What is the meaning of life is a philosophical and spiritual question concerning the significance of living or existence in general. There are so many questions concerning life. People are eager to know what the meaning of life is. How can purpose, fulfilment, and satisfaction in life be found? How can something of lasting significance or important be achieved? People continue to wonder and will not stop wondering why their relationships have fallen apart and why they feel so empty, helpless, and uncomfortable, even though they may have achieved what they set to accomplish.

In our socio-cultural practices, people try very hard to pursue many things to find meaning. Some of these pursuits include sexual intercourse, entertainment, wealth, business success, pleasure, good relationships, recognition or social status, and many others. The unsatisfactory nature of man testifies that while people achieves goals of wealth, sex, entertainment, and pleasure, there will still be a deep void or empty inside, a feeling of emptiness that nothing seemed to fill.

Life can generally be defined as the existence of an individual human being or animal or the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death.

Man always struggles to understand how he was created and who created him. As a result there have been deep scientific researches, religious beliefs, and many other events all in the name of finding the origin of the existence of life. The issue of man’s origin have also brought about many culture and customs across the universe.

The existence of life has its origin from the sources of how belief is centred. There are so many philosophies and theories or views of the origin of life. To some life is evolutional, whilst others think GOD is responsible for the existence of life. As a result, man’s belief in religion and reverence for what he might think to be GOD. It is in man’s consciousness that there is a god of some kind, but they have no idea of the one true GOD. Those who believe in a religion take the initiative to serve what they think is a god. Everybody believes in something either visible or invisible.

In this chapter philosophies or theories (views) of origin of life existence are discussed and analysed.
Church Anniversarytag:abcpreachers.ning.com,2021-05-21:916966:Topic:61435602021-05-21T18:35:20.155ZWillie Whitehttp://abcpreachers.ning.com/profile/WillieBWhite

An open letter from New Orleans clergy to the community of New Orleans

We’re standing together for a united city …

To the blessed citizens of New Orleans,

As clergy leaders in the city of New Orleans, we have watched and listened intently to the ongoing conversations about the monuments to the Confederate States of America that dot our City’s landscape. We also carry some of the weight of responsibility for the presence of these monuments, for we know that pastors, Bishops and Archbishops before us were key figures in seeking funding in the efforts to erect these very monuments.

For some, the confederate monuments are symbols of our history that ought to be preserved. For many others, these symbols are living reminders of slavery, our segregationist past and the still bleeding wound that is systemic racism.

As the spiritual leaders of New Orleans, we know the power of symbols, which is why we stand in support of their removal. In their current state, lacking any proper context, these monuments do not teach us about the past. They reflect a deafening silence about Jim Crow culture.

Statues such as the Statue of Jefferson Davis located at the corner of Canal Street and Jefferson Davis Parkway, Robert E. Lee in Lee Circle formerly known as Tivoli Circle, the memorial inscription at the Monument of The Battle of Liberty Place and the statue of General P.G.T Beauregard at the entrance to City Park are living links to past crimes against our common humanity. As symbols in our growing international city, these monuments belong not in our public line of sight, but in museums where context and education may be given and learned from.

At the base of our nation’s greatest symbol, the Statue of Liberty, there is an inscription. It reads:

Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

These words and this symbol have given hope to millions across all generations, across all nationalities, races and cultures. It is this type of monument under which we, the people of New Orleans, should gather to celebrate our life together in our sacred city.

New Orleans is a great city. Its people have done great things in the arts, music and industry. This is the culture and history we should celebrate in our monuments, for they point to who we are as a common people and who we want to be.

According to Professor Glaude one of the reasons is that many progressive middle class African Americans are members of the Joel Olsten and Rick Warren type "nondenominational" congregations. These types of Churches are not equipped to champion the issues that plague African American communities. As Professor Glaude writes, African American Pastors and other African American Church leaders must find their "prophetic voices in this momentous present".

I was at a community advocacy event last year. After the event I introduced myself to a well known Atlanta pastor. Discerning my passion he wrote down the title of a book that he suggested I should read. The title of the book is The Politics of Jesus: Rediscovering The True Revolutionary Nature of Jesus' Teachings and How They Have Been Corrupted by Obery M. Hendricks, Jr. Professor is teaching a course this semester at Emory University in Atlanta.

I am certain that careful study of this scholarly work will empower our Church leaders to re-evaluate how they do Church. The School-To-Prison Pipeline and The Prison Industrial Complex are the present Civil Rights battleground. Mainstream issues like gay rights and economics like minimum wage issues are distractions. What do you think?
