There are the arguments about "tithes" versus the "freewill offering", and both of these arguments fall short of addressing the real issues as to why there is constant "APPARENT Finance Need" in Christian Church assemblies for the ministry infrastructure and lay members as well.

Just from an economic principled standpoint, the visible church suffers from a lack of engaging in reciprocal activities, which can be found in many ministries both in natural and spiritual things. Ministries should constantly measure outcome; the word of the LORD produces fruit, not just resistance by some who choose not to listen to the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST but as well, lives that are noticeably changed by the power of the preaching of the Gospel. Because many times Outcome isn’t adhered to in the persistent administration of ministry it becomes a victimization of “assumption” that the ministry and its constituents fall prey to. It is assumed that what is given is what should be given and when the result is various poverties we are slow to modify our actions hence leaving us with church assemblies that are in constant struggle in building participation, etc.

Spiritual Reciprocation can be found in Matthew 14:14 where it is noted that after the people had followed our LORD JESUS in His teaching that they were worn, and the reciprocation came about where it reads “and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.” Cycles of wealth exist where there is investment and reinvestment. Every ministry must be sure that it is giving back into the people’s lives in order to strengthen the people so that the people may continue to support or strengthen the ministry- reciprocation.

Everyday, we as lay people and clergy support services and products that do not reciprocate back to us beyond the benefit of the service or product itself; many of us do this while at the same time declaring “we don’t believe in investing in those who do not invest in us”. Yet while saying this we shop at stores, patronize services and at the end of the year we have our business agents go and beg for contributions from some of these entities in light of our 501c3 statuses. The visible church has positioned itself in a horribly flawed state of relationships lacking reciprocal activities, many times within the assembly and almost 100% of the time from without.

In a free trade market there is no reason why the visible church should not be nearly self contained financially, enabling it in each sector of such a domain to fund its own education facilities, hospitals, banks, funeral homes, malls, radio stations (as opposed to a show slot), gas stations, etc. Aside of too many individuals seeking to be chief, which is what creates fertile ground for gentrification, there is this “JUST ENOUGH” environment looming due to a lack of reciprocal practices leaving the visible church in a perpetual state of begging alms.

There are activities that the visible church can do from within that are proven to build not only money but also residual wealth. In a basic relationship most of us would refuse to give to someone daily while only being afforded his or her physical presence as a reward. We expect our boss to reciprocate, our spouse, our children, our clergy and lay members, our neighbors and others as well; all this we do while not demanding that those who we patronize with our dollars to patronize us in return whether we fill out a requisition form and whether we’re 501c3 eligible or not. This is a major problem producing fertility for poverty in that wealth is only traveling in one direction, toward the vendor.

What if there was a way to be compensated when you patronize and promote? Everything we patronize we end up promoting aggressively or passively, but either way we promote it. Example: if you enjoy a movie, dinner or someone compliment you on an outfit you’re wearing 99.999% of the time you’ll direct them to where you experienced or purchased it. This model of promotion is one that we only get an EGO boost from and usually no monetary compensation. What if a product or service that most of the congregants in a Christian Church assembly normally used was purchased through a program headed by the assembly resulting in the assembly and members who chose to participate in the opportunity aspect of it to earn residual income? If the income builds as the participation grows, what if each assembly was linked with other assemblies showing them how to experience the same success as they have, which as a result would make 2nd offerings not necessary during times of gathering together? There is such a mechanism that exists!

This model, as I believe, is alluded to in Matthew 14 when in verse 19 it states “And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.” The end result is that no one was left hungry by the time the last person is fed as verse 20 reads “And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.”

I believe that through reciprocal activities the visible church has the opportunity and will have the means to become self sufficient apart from the typical construct of begging alms. If certain things the assembly and lay members will purchase regardless (such as soaps, hygiene, skin care items, etc.) then why not be compensated for them as a result of one’s neighbor finding out where to get it from because of them? This is at best called “Community Commerce”. There is no reason, due to the existence of this model, that church assemblies are not financially self-sufficient. Most assemblies fellowship with no less than 5 other assemblies in a given year; with each church assembly involving most of their membership and then partnering with other assemblies to do the same with their membership it would put all in a position of having the perfect number of GOD’s Government [12] with provision as a end result. This is a GAME CHANGER! Not that these models haven’t been introduced to some in the past, but because it is clear that the LORD is soon to come and so many Kingdom activities that need finance such as foreign missions, missionaries getting aid for church assembly buildings in foreign lands, food/medicine as a prelude to missionary work in stricken areas, etc. there is need to change the game and our paradigm on finance in these end times for the visible body of CHRIST.

A major tenant of the prosperity gospel is the teaching that Jesus and his disciples were men of considerable wealth and standing. To me, this is the most irksome aspect of the doctrine. It completely distorts the biblical record. There's no evidence of Jesus being wealthy (or even what we would call "middle-class"). Jesus had something far more substantial than material wealth... he had the Father's favor. You have to misread the record to conclude that Jesus owned a house (which prosperity gospel proponents have done); why would he need one when believers in every town lent out their own to him. Peter's mother-in-law actually let them tear up her roof to lower down a paraplegic. After having been healed by Jesus, what wouldn't she have sacrificed for his ministry?

Why would he need money for groceries when Jesus could borrow a child's lunch and multiply it to feed thousands. He didn't even need money to pay tribute, since he call forth a fish with coin in its mouth. Jesus was moving his believers towards a complete trust in God that meant they were no longer obsessed with possessions. "Give us this day our daily bread," he taught them to pray. Do the kingdom work, and God will meet all your needs.

Anything Jesus needed, the Father supplied. This is what makes the prosperity gospel's speculation about monetary concerns (e.g., how much money he might have inherited from Joseph, how much money he earned as a carpenter before he began his ministry, how much money the twelve disciples brought with them) so utterly insignificant.

Jesus instructed the disciples about this when he sent them out to proclaim the coming Kingdom: "And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse..." The disciples didn't need to bring money...they didn't even pack a lunch... because the favor of God was resting upon them throughout their mission. Everywhere they ventured, the Father had already made provision for them. Jesus asked after they returned, "When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing?" and they had to confess "Nothing."

When you are serving the Lord, submitted to his will and carrying out the mission he has given you, you will not experience lack. You don't need a background of privilege, You don't need to have an employment history, you don't need a white-collar job, you don't need a bulging bank account, You don't need to be swimming in material resources. By consequence of your relationship to Christ alone, you will have access to anything you need. You will lack nothing.
KINGDOM PRINCIPLES THAT ALWAYS WORK - Part 1tag:abcpreachers.ning.com,2010-03-17:916966:Topic:12602052010-03-17T15:23:27.758ZApostle Dr. Melody Barclayhttp://abcpreachers.ning.com/profile/DrMelodyBarclay

Did you know that there are no secret formulas and no secret keys to wealth and success? Jesus says in St. John 10:10”…I am come that you may have life and that more abundantly. (Read my blog on YOUR DOMINION & HEIRSHIP – Part 2, to learn what this abundant life is.) In Matthew 16:19. Jesus talks about keys to the Kingdom. These same keys are for us today, the children God & the people of God, of the Kingdom. Keys represent authority to open and close, to loose (release, untie, unbind) and to bind (restrict, handcuff, lockdown, render powerless) And as Kingdom people, there are Kingdom principles that we must practice and follow, if we are to obtain everything that is rightfully and inheritantly our, from God through Christ Jesus.

KEYS & PRINCIPLES that are essential for us to acquire our earthly and spiritual wealth and inheritance:

LOVE

Love is a principal thing and must be paramount in our lives if we are going to be recipients of God’s bounty and abundance. We must first love the Lord with all that we are and with all that we have. – Deuteronomy 6:5 “You shall love the Lord your God will all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength.” Jesus reiterated this in Matthew 22:37 “Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” It is foolish of you to think that you are going to receive lovely things from a loving Father and you’re hating. It just ain’t happening. Love everybody and love God ALWAYS, no matter what. And you can do it with God’s unconditional and unfailing love.

GIVING

Laws are made and laws are broken, but there are some laws that cannot under no circumstances be broken. Take the law of gravity for instance. What goes up will come down again. And even so it is with the law of reciprocity. Reciprocity is the giving and taking of something mutually. We find the law of reciprocity in Luke 6:38, “Give and it shall be given unto you good measure, pressed and shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you put out, you will get that same measure back to you.” We also find the law of reciprocity in 2 Corinthians 9:6 “But this I say, He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” I would like to add to this, he who says faithful, will reap faithfully; and he who sows continually, will also reap continually. You just can’t make a big one-time offering or plant a big one-time seed, and thing you are going to rap a continual blessing. TO REAP CONTINUALLY YOU MUST SOW CONTINUALLY, even during the hard times and times of crises. If a dollar is the best that you can give then give that dollar like you are giving a hundred dollar bill, and God is going to honor it as such, because you gave of your best and you gave of your last. Remember the story of the widow’s mite, of how she gave less than a penny’s worth of money, yet the Lord took notice of her. (See Luke 21:2-4 for story.)

EXPECTATION

You must believe and exercise your faith with expectancy. Expectancy is key in your receiving also. If you are waiting on the mailman to come and bring you a certain letter or package, you with certainty and expectation wait for him, because you know without a doubt that he’s coming with something for you. You are not hoping and wishing, but you are expecting. When you hope and wish for something, you are uncertain if it will happen or not, but when you expect something, you with anticipation wait for it and look for its arrival, because you KNOW that its coming. And if you believe God, if you believe His word, if you believe all that God has spoken to you, your spirit and through His word , by way of dreams, visions or other people, you ought to be on the edge of your seat expecting its arrival in your circumstances and in your life EVERYDAY.

DECLARATION

You must open your mouth and say something. You must declare openly and boldy the word of God, the promises of God and what you believe, in the mighty name of Jesus. Don’t try to figure out with your little grain-of-salt –mind, how God is going to do the miraculous and supernatural in your life. Don’t try to figure out how He is going to move and show up, or when and where He is going to show up, with your little-grain-of-salt mind. But open your mouth loud, wide and boldly, when circumstances and everything and every body seems to be yelling at you differently than what God has said or showed you, and what you believe. I dare you to began to practice this principle and use this key. We have been created in the image and likeness of God. We have His DNA, and thus we have the same capability of using the spoken word like He did in creation, to bring the world and everything and mankind into existence. We have that same capability to speak and declare words with our mouth that will bring about a change, deliverance, blessing, etc. But we must keep doing it until we get the results that we want. Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Declare life over death, declare health and healing over sickness and disease, declare prosperity and abundance where there is lack and poverty, declare strength where there is weakness, declare love where there is hate, etc. and use the power of your tongue, the power of your words, and the power of declaration, UNTIL you get see and get the results you want. DECLARE BOLDLY AND AUTHORITATIVELY, “I am healed, I am blessed and not cursed, I’m out of debt, my needs are met and I have plenty of more to put in store, I am the head and not the tail, etc., etc.

Dr. Melody Barclay

THANKSGIVING

Maintain a healthy attitude and spirit of thanksgiving and gratitude. Gratitude and thanksgiving always make room for more. If you can appreciate what you have right now, where you are at right now, then you are well on your way to bigger and greater things.

GOOD STEWARDSHIP

Jesus says if you be faithful in a few things, you will be made to ruler over many things. Read about the parable of the Ten Talents in Matthew 25:14-29. If God can trust you to manage ten dollars well, He can trust you to manage a hundred dollars. If He can trust you to manage a hundred dollars well, He can trust you to manage a thousand dollars. If He can trust you to manage a thousand dollars, He can trust you to manage ten thousand dollars. I think you get the picture. On the other hand, if He can’t trust you to handle a thousand dollars, don’t think He’s going to give you thousands and millions of dollars to mess around with or blow.

TITHING

Besides love, tithing is one of the greatest principles that you can practice. If you honor God with ten percent of your substance or income, He will bless your ninety percent that you have left, favor will work in and for your life, He will open doors for you on your behalf, and there are so many other benefits that you will be a recipient because you chose to honor God first. When you tithe, you are saying to God, “Lord it is You that made it possible for me to have this source of income or revenue, it is You who gives me the life, health and breath to do my job or run my business.” And please understand, that tithing and giving is not for God but it is for you. Giving is the only vehicle that you have that will guarantee that you will receive those things that you sow for. You can pray all day long or all night for something, but if you are not a tither and you don’t give, what harvest have you made for your self to reap and receive?

PRAYER

Ahhhhhh yes, one of my favorite principles. Why? Because I learned that the beauty of prayer is not petitioning, begging or asking God for things, but it is giving to God, worship, adoration, appreciation and thanksgiving. And you know what usually happens when you love, romance and adore some one right? You are right, you get pretty much what you want and some. Now worship, thanksgiving and adoration, etc. toward the Lord should not be your motivation to get things, or else it becomes your manipulation to get God to do something for you. And that won’t work. But you love, adore and worship Him, solely because He’s God’s and He’s worthy and deserving of it. And His response will be to love you back, and He will love you back in tangible ways. And then our prayer must also include spiritual warfare in binding the enemy and powers of darkness, pleading the blood of Jesus, asking God to dispatch angels, you summonsing angels, declaring the word of God for your situation, because the enemy of your soul does not want you to have anything that is rightfully yours, and will always be trying to hinder, delay and deter your blessings. He will always in some kind of way to make you miss out or forfeit your blessings, even if he has to use you and your disobedience, or other people. YOU MUST BE FIERCE ABOUT TAKING OWNERSHIP OF WHAT IS YOURS AND TAKE IT AND POSSESS IT. Matthew 11:12 “And from the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent takes it by FORCE. So rise up in the name of Jesus and through the power of the Blood of Jesus and TAKE AND TAKE AND TAKE until you posses what is yours in your hands.

FAITH

Another among the greatest of the principles is faith.

Mark 11:22 –24 “So Jesus answered and said to them, Have faith in God. (Which is interpreted from have the faith of God.) For assuredly I say to you, whosoever says to this mountain, be removed and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes those things that he says, they will be done and he will have whatsoever he says. Therefore I say unto you, whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them.”

Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

James 1:6-8 “But let him ask in faith, without wavering, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man think that he will receive anything from the Lord. Because he is double-minded and unstable in all his ways.”

OBEDIENCE

Now you don’t need five scriptures to explain or understand what obedience is. But if you read in the book of Deuteronomy 28:1-14, you find the blessings for your obedience. In verses 15-68 (That’s 54 verses of curses for disobedience, WOW.), you will find curses for your disobedience.

So to sum it all up, we need to keep and practice all of these principles, because they are contingent upon one another, in helping us achieve and acquire the things that have been set forth by God for us here on earth and in our heavenly place.

Dr. Melody Barclay

This is an interesting and informative article written by Jonas Clark, about what's going on with our economy. However that may be, there are kingdom priciples that will keep us atop of things if we know them, realize them and implement them. As God's people we yet have hope when there is no hope in things of the world or the world's system.

The reports in America are odious with over 8.5 million unemployed, 7 million home foreclosures, 40 percent of homeowner’s upside-down on their mortgages and Federal Government debts exceeding 12 trillion expecting to grow to 20 trillion in the next ten years.

What's a Christian to do? I'm convinced Christ offers meaningful hope, change and solutions. The answer is found with embracing the Kingdom of God. Christianity has a success culture. We need to learn more about it. In this series of essays I’'m going to share with you such things as the meaning of the Kingdom of God, what it was like living in the Kingdom under Adam’s leadership, when the kingdoms of this world started, the division of kingdoms under Cain, Nimrod, Pharaoh, Sodom and Caesar, and Abraham's relationship with God. We will also discover the true identity of those warriors born in Abraham's own house, the dangerous democratic voice of the people that rejected God for a golden calf, Christ as restoring King and your part in the restoration of all things including the Kingdom of God.

THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD
Christ said, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). Some think Jesus was referring to “saving” men alone. Could it be possible he was also talking about seeking and saving the Kingdom of God?

Is your allegiance to Christ and the Kingdom of God or another kingdom? In our world there are many kingdoms. Kingdoms can be likened to various nations such as the United States, Russia, and China with governments of men ruling over men contrasted by the Kingdom of our Lord with Christ ruling over men.

he Word teaches the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, a shift from kingdoms of man ruling over man to kingdoms of God ruling over man. God ruling over man is how things were in the beginning of creation before Cain’s murder of Abel. When you look at the many multifarious kingdoms throughout the world the restoration of God ruling over men seems impossible yet Scripture makes it clear that kingdom change will happen. So the question is, “Will the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord suddenly or progressively?” Let’s examine this verse.

Scripture declares, “The kingdoms (basileia) of this world (kosmos) are become (ginomai) the kingdoms of our Lord (kurios), and of his Christ; and he shall reign (basileuō) for ever and ever” (Revelation 11:15).

Again, when will the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord? Will it happen instantly after some event like the rapture of the Church, Jacob’s trouble, the great tribulation, after the resurrection of the just and the unjust as some teach, during the millennial reign, or will the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord slowly? The word “become”, Greek ginomai, may help us find the answer.

According to Strongs the Greek word gionomai (become) is: “A prolonged and middle form of a primary verb; to cause to be (“gen” -erate), that is, (reflexively) to become (come into being)… .”

If Strongs is correct then gionomai means caused to be as in generated, becoming. That means that something has and is causing the kingdoms of this world to become the kingdoms of our Lord. This “caused to be” is not what many of us have been taught. We have been schooled to passively wait for the kingdoms of this world to become the kingdoms of our God through the sovereignly of God. Could it be possible that disciples of Christ are involved in some way in the kingdoms becoming? According to Apostle Luke the kingdoms of this world have been in a state of restoration since the world began (Acts 3:21).

Even thought the kingdoms of this world are shaking you can take courage because Christ is the way, the truth and the life. These shakings are part of His restoration (gionomai) plan. As you put first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, your road to freedom will become apparent.

Your partner,
Jonas Clark
www.jonasclark.com

Remember that in 3rd John 2, John has prayed that we all prosper and be in good health, as our soul prospers. Some would ask, "Is prosperity always about having lots of money in your pocket and bank account?" The answer is no, prosperity is not always about having money in your pocket and bank account. Yes, God wants us to prosper financially and not live in poverty. He wants us to have money to pay for college (especially grants and scholarships), pay our bills, take care of families, and be a blessing to others (Remember Deuteronomy 8:18). But God doesn't want us to prosper in just the financial part. But He wants us to prosper in all of our areas of life, including academics, family, health, marriage and relationships, spiritual life, work life, and prayer life. Prosper comes from the Greek word euodoo, meaning to succeed or be successful. Remember that what's important is that you as children of God are rich in Christ Jesus.

Prosperity has been a misunderstood and a controversial topic. Yes, prosperity is of God, but the Devil perverts it because the main focus is money and material possessions. There's nothing wrong with a preacher preaching on prosperity, but you got to understand that preachers may go about prosperity the wrong way. They'll preach too much prosperity and leave out holiness. Also, they'll make it all about money and go overboard with the "Money Cometh to Me" stuff, which gets on my nerves. Understand that it's important to seek God first and live right before you let prosperity seek you. So sad that prosperity has be preached more and holiness has been preached less. Think about it. There are preachers preaching prosperity, blessings, and getting your breathrough when there are those who are bound in sin. Understand why. Because preachers like to pump people up and get amens and handclaps. No, it's nothing wrong with preaching on prosperity, but it's important to teach people how to walk in holiness and seek God first. Besides we need balance because you can't name it and claim it while you're not walking in holiness.

Remember that having lots of money, fame, and material doesn't constitute the fact that you have God's favor. Yes, you may have fame and fortune, but they mean nothing when you don't have Christ in your life. Think about Mr. Burns from "The Simpsons", the late Anna Nicole Smith, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and the rest of some of the celebrities. Yes, they may have all the money, but they are empty on the inside because they lack a relationship with Jesus Christ. In order to get God's favor, you must walk upright for His word says that if you walk upright, He will not withold any good thing for you.

The point of this note is to explain how prosperity has been misunderstood and taken too the extremes. Yes, it's a good thing to preach on prosperity. But, if a preacher leaves out holiness and preach prosperity all the time, there's something wrong because you can't get prosperity without living in holiness. Remember that it's important to have balance for the Lord our God is balance. Don't treat Jesus like he's your sugardaddy or Santa Claus so that you can fulfill your selfish desires. Treat Jesus as your Savior and Daddy who knows what's best for you. Don't get caught up in material possessions and money because they come and go. But get caught up in Jesus because He lasts forever.
