A NEW WAY OF THINKING

Seeing things from God’s perspective, Seeing things from God’s point of view.

Matthew 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach. “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand.”

The word ‘repent’ in this text was derived from the Greek word ‘metanaeo’, which means to think differently or reconsider. Simply it means to change your way of thinking. We must learn to think differently. We must get rid of our old thought patterns and the old behaviors that come with them.
You probably heard of the old saying “Get rid of your stinkin thinking.” This is something that we must do if we are going to change. We must see things now and think from God’s perspective and from the word of God perspective. What does the word of God has to say about our thoughts, our life, our ways, our attitude, our habits, and others, etc.?

If you think you can, you can.
If you think you can’t, you can’t.
If you think you will, you will.
If you think you won’t, you won’t.
If you think you can, you are right.
If you think you can’t you are right.
Whatever way you think, that’s the way it will be.

Proverbs 23:7 “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”

THINGS TO THINK ON

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely. Whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise think on these things.”

Don’t think negative. Don’t talk negative. Don’t look negative. Don’t listen to negative things. Don’t allow your self to engage in negative things. Don’t let people feed you with negativity.

THE BATTLEFIELD OF THE MIND

The mind only becomes a battlefield when we allow it to. The thoughts that we entertain will be the thoughts that will govern our ways, our attitude, our habits, our lives and us. When you make the decision to choose what you will think about and what you won’t allow your mind to entertain and when you take a stand and really mean it, negatives thoughts and things will come to your mind but you will have the power not to give in to those thoughts. And with the Holy Spirit on the inside of you, He is your helper to keep you under control when your mouth, tongue or flesh may want to lose control because of what some one said or did to provoke you to anger, upset you, etc. And the more you are filled with the word of God by reading, studying, speaking and practicing it, the easier it will be for youto have a Godly mind and Godly thoughts no mater what.

TRANSFORMATION BY YOUR NEW WAY OF THINKING

Romans 12: 2 “And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Conform means to be like something or like some one. When we conform to the world we think like the world, engage with worldly ways and things and pattern ourselves after worldly people and worldly things. Worldly Many things of the world are sinful and an abhorrence to God. Worldly things can be material things and other things that may be idols in our lives. Cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, gambling, playing numbers, profanity and other things that are harmful and destructive to us are things of the world. What we give most of our attention, time and energy is our idol, is our god and what we worship. This could be things or people as well.

SOME GOOD QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR SELF:

What’s on your mind?

How do you think?

Do you need to change your way of thinking?
