Alois Bell, I feel no sympathy for the situation you have put yourself in

Pastor Bell,

When you use "I give God 10%" as an excuse to not tip a restaurant worker, you demonstrated a lack of compassion, charity and worst of all because you are a Pastor, you used the lords name in vain. The 4th commandment, thou shalt not use the lords name in vain means if you want to be cheap and cruel by not tipping your waitress, DO NOT USE GOD AS YOUR EXCUSE. Be cheap with your own name, not your God's.

I believe that all of this negative attention that has come to you and your church community is God punishing you for taking His name too lightly. God's name is worth more than the $6.29 that you were not willing to pay.

Dear Pastor Bell,

I am writing to you to share concern for the incident at the Applebee's.  As a customer, I understand your feelings of being forced to "tip" simply because of the size of the party that you were in for your meal.  I do not agree with automatic tipping and think it should be left up to the person to decide the amount appropriate.  "Tipping" by definition is a reward given for good service.  If you did not receive "good" service then a tip should not be given.
Now, having been a server in the past, I can empathize with the staff of the establishment having to go by the rules set by the company, although, I found that adding a gratuity to a large party usually cost me money.  I do not know if you are aware of the fact that servers make $2.13 per hour.  That is all.  They work entirely for tips.  I don't agree with this either, but, When in Rome, right.  If the server in this case did not give the appropriate attention to the table then there should not have been a tip.  As a rule,  I either leave at least 20% or nothing at all.  If there is not tip left, then I am also talking to the manager because someone needs to be aware of the issue with the service.
As a former youth pastor, I understand the pressure that is put on that title.  As the shepard, I was held to a higher standard than the sheep. I was expected to live be what was taught in the Bible at all times.  It was a much bigger deal if I slipped and lost my way.  Pastors are human too.  We all make mistakes.  The trick is to learn from our mistakes, ask for forgiveness, fix the wrong and learn from it so as not to make that mistake again. I am sure that you are doing that.  I am sure that you are going to be an example for your congregation and do the right thing.  Jesus said "that which you do to the least of these, you also do unto me" and commanded us to turn the other cheek when we are wronged, not once, but 70 times 7.
Oh, and by the way,  It is people like you, and actions like yours, that made me not only stop being a pastor but leave the Church.  Why should I sit in a room and have a person that "sins" as much as I do tell me how badly I am doing and that I am going to go to this awful place if I don't live by the rules they they themselves can't live by.
WWJD?  He would have thanked the girl, paid the tip and then gone above what was expected of Him.  Of course, He was Divine and you are only human.

Since you claim to be a Pastor...............let me tell you a little about  your roles:

  1. You are to conduct your-self as a Christian at all times.
  2. In the Bilbe It talks about Jesus...who was a perfect man..and never once did he treat the desciples of any of the  none-followers  like that ....he went along with the rules of the land.
  3. Treat other how you would like to be treated......Who knows that waitress could have really needed that money.
  4. Giving and recieving are blessings given by God.
  5. Being a Pastor is a calling from God............As good as God is .. in my opinion....he would have never ordained someone as imature as you......I would expect those types of action from kids.

Every one in life  is trying to survive.. Even though it's happening ...God didn't intend for one perone to have more than the other. And let me just keep it extreamly real  with you...cause Yes I am a bible reader too...and if you have read your bible correctly God NEVER ordained a woman to speak in a church/ he asked that a woman be silent in the church.....So you being a pastor is in vain any....and if you think about  maybe...... this is God's way of trying to tell you that you need to step down...........

"Pastor" Bell, you owe that young woman you got fired a job.  In the meantime, your church has an obligation to put their money where your mouth is and support that woman until she is once again gainfully employed.

Alois Bell.  You are a disgrace to your ministry and black ministers everywhere.  The only thing you feel sorry about is getting caught.  You definitely did not feel sorry enough to let the issue go forgive and forget. Instead you spitefully try to get this girl fired.  YOU ARE A DISGRACE.

So let me get this straight: You, a "woman" of "god" said you give 10% of your income to god, why worry about the little people (basically what you said). Let me ask you very important question; where does your income come from? Is it not church provided? So what your mean to say is you give back 10% of your income back to the establishment that cashed the check, oh how Nobel of you. I can only hope with my sincerest that you are destroyed by this. In the age of the Internet the only thing you're guilty of besides being an ignorant, useless hypocrite is being naive. Bet ya if this was a "sister" waitress she'd have given her the 18% tip (shrugs, just saying)

By stiffing your server you committed the sin of greed.  By complaining to the manager after the server posted the evidence of your transgression, you committed a further act:  that of violence toward your server.  Your feigned "contrition" over your first act is belied by your second act.  Pastor Bell, you have accurately shown your true colors for all who care to observe them.  What do you intend to do about the server's loss of employment, responsibilty for which sits squarely, firmly, and irretrievably upon your shoulders??

Matthew 22:34-46, "But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they
were gathered together."  Sadducees means "righteous".  God will silence those people who think they are more righteous than you.  People who were some of your biggest critics will have to come together concerning what God has done in your life.  They will be silenced concerning all that noise they were previously talking about you.  They will be proven wrong.  There will be no denying that God is for you, who dare continue to be against you?

Verse 35, 36, "Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a question], tempting him, and saying, Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?  You will always have someone who will continue to prove that you are guilty of wrong doing.  Remember that there were over 600 O.T. laws.  The lawyer is saying that just because you are following God in this area of your life, you fall short in other areas.

     Verses 37-39 anybody?

What you said makes no since.......did you read in your bible where it states that a  woman..is not suppose to

speak within the church...so God Never ordained a woman to be a preacher....It's not judgment its the truth.....and plus every one is entitled to their own opinion...She clearly acted like that because the waitress was white...lets be real and  how dare you try to cover up for her.....wrong is wrong
