Are you laboring to enter into the Rest of God?
We must labor to enter into the Rest of God, Let us not fall after the same example of the children of Israel who could not enter rest because of unbelief. Let us not make the same mistake as they did. The Sabbath day and according to the scriptures God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day. Adam was created on the six day, which means Adams first day began on God’s seventh day of rest. Adam was created to rest in God, and this was his position given to him by God. But when Adam sinned he lost his position of rest and was put out of the garden. When Christ came God made available once again the place of rest to his people through Jesus Christ. And now we must labor to enter into that rest.
So then what is the Rest of God?
Hebrews 4:9-11...There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Also in Hebrews 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: It takes believing to enter into rest and what does believing leads to? A full confidence and trust in God through the finished work of Christ. This is the rest. You may say, "this isn't something new, we have all been growing in God and trusting in God everyday." This is true but, we have all become like the children of Israel wondering 40 years in the wilderness before we even began to labor to enter into rest. This is because of the lack of revelation. We are "ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth"...2 Timothy 3:7 Like the children of Israel wondering in the wilderness for 40 years, when it should only take days to enter into the promised land. The Rest is a full confidence and trust in God through the finished work of Christ.. This can only come through mind renewal in the revelation in the knowledge of Christ. God wants us to enter into His rest, so that we can cease from our on works. That’s because our works can’t bring about the power of God in our lives and in the lives of others. Our works are powerless, weak and useless. When we enter into his rest we will be dead to self, and we will no longer interfere with the work of Christ. We must cease from our own works as God did from His. God is not calling us to do anything but rest in Him, and be seated in Christ.
I know how you feel, you want to get busy and bring about the work’s of God in you life and in the life of others, but look at the words of Jesus… John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
The apostles wanted to work the works of God also, but Jesus said the work is believing in Christ, because the work is finished! IT IS ALL DONE IN THE WORK OF CHRIST!!! You no longer need to try to get the victory, you have the victory in Christ! You now need to work at believing it. You no longer need to try to get deliverance from sin, you have it in Christ! You now need to work at believing it. You no longer need to try to get healing, you have it in Christ! You now need to work at believing it. You no longer need to try to get strength , you have it in Christ! You now need to work at believing it. Doesn’t the word say we have the victory, and that we are delivered, and that by his stripes we are healed, and let the weak say I’m strong? Well that’s because we have all of these in Christ and all we need to do is labor to believe this fact.
Ephesians 1:3-14
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
WOW! DO YOU SEE IT ? HE HAVE BLESSED US WITH ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS, just work at believing it and it will manifest itself in your life.
