Matthew 26:36. Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. 37. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. 38. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. 39. And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Thought for the Day: The Journey To Calvary Is Lonely.

Reflection for the Day: Through Your Prayers And Tears, The Journey Must Be Completed.

Today is referred to as Ash Wednesday. It begins a period of sacrifice leading to Easter. The effort is not made in order to receive material things; but rather, to aide oneself in their effort to be closer to the Lord. It leads to one's personal Calvary. During the journey Jesus made, He felt so alone that He cried out and asked His Father why did He forsake Him. It was a lonely journey, but it was necessary so that we might know salvation.

You have a role in accomplishing the will of God. You will be faced with many challenges during the journey to your own Calvary. The pain you experience may cause you to cry out to the Lord, but do not yield to the desires of the enemy. Commit yourself to the fulfillment of the Lord's will, instead of your own, and the journey will be competed.
