Bishop........... Real vs Fake......................Apostle..........Real vs Fake..................

I find it interesting that a Bishop must come through the sacred vehicle of consecration, He must be consecrated by Bishops with Apostolic Succession, and He must govern an assigned diocese but an Apostle (some of whom were never consecrated Bishops) does not. The fact is that there is more than one line of succession (for those who claim that succession was broken); I refer to both the Eastern and Western streams. Prelates who were granted Apostolic Succession are the only clerics who can create another Prelate in spite of what heresy is being taught. I have friends who are Apostles but they are also duly consecrated Bishops in good standing within the Episcopal community. These mighty men of God boldly speak out against those who want Prelateship without proper Episcopal dispensation. By defintion a consecration is in fact official permission to enter into the Episcopacy; this being true how can one claim the office of Bishop without a consecration? One can not be a Prelate without being consecrated into an order of Prelature. 5 of those orders are Episcopal and 1 is Potentiary. The truth is simple, one can not claim to be a Prelate if they were not properly consecrated by Prelates with Apostolic Succession. A side note: exactly how does an Apostle, who was never consecrated by Prelates with Apostolic Succecsion, see himself comparatively to a properly consecrated Bishop? Does he believe himself equal to, superior to, or subject to that Bishop?

Bless you Bishop, Will regarding the question, I think the question isn't who is over who I think the question should be, Who has the fruit behind their works! I see alot of consecrated Bishop with the name but no works! They cant cast the devil out of a nat but they have a chain and a ring. I think we have spent to much time on the politics of church and not the saving of the soul. People are dieing while we are debating about who's next for the high chair. I thought that high chairs were for babies? I just think we need to change our focus from politics to regaining the Power of God that He is the Author and Finisher of Everything we do and Say! If we regain the Power who's in charge really wont matter, Because everything will be structure by the Holy Ghost and Leader wont mind submitting to whoever's in charge. I look forward to conversing with you soon! Grace to You!!!
Bless you Prophet Awesome I concer...........................

Until Then.
We the christian community most be so very carefull, with these titles. The problem is that there is little or know accountability. On the internet anyone can get ordained and get a title. I was born and raised baptist .but I am now COGIC. I am also ordained by both church's. My point is I had to be taught, trained, ordained , and made accountable. The first question asked is who called you into the ministry. Many people now day call themselves and hear not the calling of God.They put on themselves titles, apostle, bishop, prophet, etc.we the christians need a covering Holy Ghost /mother or father in the ministry. The bible warns us about in the last days ,false prohets, apotles, ,etc will rise up . To decieve the people of God, as well as the very elect. The Holy Ghost leads me to say, whatever is being taught or preached. Must line up with the word of God, {bible]. We are not to get caught up in personalities.form, and fashion.
Bishop you are so correct... Its always those whom were never consecrated properly into the Bishopric that has a problem with it. Yes Souls are and should always be our main focus, but we also must govern the church whicn means dont just turn away from things that are out of order. The lame excuse about Apostle being choosen by God is only another way of circumventing the system that was out inplace in the by the Aposltes themselves.

I also grew up and was ordain Baptist. And had to almost know nothing. Due to the fact of the Baptist church being so out of order. The Pastor has to answer to no one thus the ability tio ordain whomever whenever they want. Then I went in to C.O.G.I.C. fanily were I had to sit down and learn "Bibile Doctrine as thought in the Church of God in Christ"

The point is everyone is riding on this "NEW THING" that God is doing. But the last time I checked Hebrews 13:8 said Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. and 1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

We Must protect the FAITH!!! AMd I WILL!
Also, are you implying that C.O.G.I.C. is the only place that taught you "Biblical doctrine"? You didn't learn anything when you were a Baptist?

Honestly, I wondered that same thing. SURELY they can be accredited for something influential....
Apostolic Succession for the Bishopric is very much so needed, however, Apostleship is not an office that follows such an order. When in reference to Apostolic offices like the Seat of Peter in Rome (the Pope), yes, there is be a line that they follow because it is not a new work established. When talking about the C.O.G.I.C. family, yes the Chief Apostle & Presiding Prelate Bishop Blake and all others would fall under the Apostolic Succession category, tracing their line back to the Apostle C.H. Mason. Not so with Apostleship. The Bishopric continues a work that was started by an Apostle. An Apostle, however, does not continue someone else's work, but starts up his/her own. Take this scripture for example:

"Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: but as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand. For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you." - Romans 15:19-22

If you look at the three Epistles for the Bishopric, (1st & 2nd Timothy, and Titus), these two gentlemen were not doing the Bishopric work, but Apostolic establishment. From them would be a Church established and ordered, with the Bishops picking up from where the Apostles left them to finish. Take note of what Apostle Paul said to Apostle Titus:

"For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:" - Titus 1:5

The word "Elder" in this verse is synonymous with the words "Pastor", and "Overseer/Bishop". Titus was not called to be the Bishop, but to ordain the Bishops. This is part of what Apostles do. They start a work, and plant overseers of the work to continue where they left off. Apostolic Succession would work and continue from there, if it ever were to continue. But it would have little to no relevance to the Apostle's office. The Apostle is hand-selected by GOD and affirmed by Prophets, and fellow Apostles to go forth and do the work GOD has specifically called them for.

The Bishopric in essence continues what the Apostles start. An Apostle does not have to even be a Bishop over an already established work before being sent out to start a new project for Christ. Let us look at some apostolic examples:

- Zhang Rongling started the underground Chinese Church in the 1970's, and was not formally consecrated to Apostolic Succession according to the order you speak of. No man on here or anywhere else can refute his Apostleship.

- Kayy Gordon planted 12 Church and two Bible Colleges in Canada for the Eskimos. No mention of Bishopric odination for her Apostolic office and work!

Need I go on, because I can easily do so if needed.
well this is a very timely topic Bishop,First we need to know that God is a God of Authority and also of accountability. An apostle simply means a messenger sent to establish the kingdom of God here on earth. He can not be elected by voting.
Biblically Apostles choose bishops who were in essence church leaders. in the-book acts when churches were founded by Paul they were not governed by pastors initially but by elders otherwise called Bishops. As time went by one elder assumed the leadership of the flock and was called pastor, Another elder was given oversight over other churches to oversee hence the term overseer. But as years went by the office of the Bishop took a political dimension and recognition until dark ages thus the order of God was lost the apostolic office was discarded but God is restoring order in the church today.Whatever our titles we must show fruit and be accountable one to another we are brothers and sisters in the lord amen!
1Timothy 3:1-13 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Titus 1:6-16 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, the Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
This is one of many topics that deserves our attention individually and collectivelly. Gilbert E. Patterson left the C.O.G.I.C. many years ago after being ordained and began using the term APOSTLE. He was strictly focused on reaching the lost and that was his
authority from GOD.More Importantly, C.O.G.I.C. ask for him to return as a BISHOP and he accepted. While Gilbert was away from the ecclesiastical hierarchy, he impacted more lives than when he joined himself. In conclusion, many need to forget about office\title and stay hooked on what GOD wants you to do.
