What are we going to do about denominationalism? Not that there is anything wrong with being a part of a denomination, because I am a part of a denomination C.O.G.I.C but there are some people who think they are going to heaven because they are a part of a specific type of church, and everyone else will not make it in. This is a myth because I have met some Catholics that live by Kingdom principles with more conviction than many Christians. So I just wanted to ask what others think about this subject.

What are we going to do about it? How about we first stop making statements like "because I am a part of the greatest denomination there is C.O.G.I.C" but preceeding it with "Not that there is anything wrong with being a part of a denomination" the minute you think your "denomination" is better than someone else's you have missed it and now you represent the denomination and not Christ. Me myself i'm a Christian that happens to attend a Baptist church and not the other way around.
I'm sorry that offended you but this is what I want to get out of people (a response) so thanks. We need to address issues and I think this is a great forum for us to do so. I just wanted people to know that I don't think that it's anything wrong with being a part of a denomination.
I actually edited that part out because the bible says that we shouldnt offend our brother.
This is just a discussion for people to talk about things that people are sometimes afraid to tallk about.
It's not about me it's just a discussion.
In this day and age, there will ALWAYS be denominationalism. Its in EVERY major religion. Christianity itself has over 15000 sects. Judaism has less than 20 sects. I think its simply about humbling oneself, and studying the word as he/she should... accompanied by the wisdom, understanding, and knowledge of HaShem, and also honesty.
Check out this video at the 2:00 min mark this might answer the question you have as it pertains to denominations.

Rev,

I seen this speech several times. Its pretty good, being that it comes from my favorite Christian Philosopher.
James,

I'm glad to see we can finally agree on something.
It's funny that this came up because we jsut discussed this a couple of weeks ago at mission. One thing that I have learned about people that are caught up on denomination is that they are closed minded and people that are caught up in tradition. Not understanding that tradition just might land them a spot in HELL! We must grasp the concept that God does not work how we think he ought to work. So therefore he uses who he wants to use. I am a firm believer that God has someone everywhere. Most times its the person that we look past because we as people or human race are quick to look for the person that fits a certain persona. They got to be from this church or dress this way but when get to the place that I can worship with you and you can worship with me without any reserve then we will begin to see the manifestation of God and the spirit of God. Grant it that he is moving but if we long to see the move of God like in the days of OLD we must move denomination and our ideas of how it is suppose to be done out of the way! God bless you for this Discussion topic.
Felisha,

All of us are in some sort of group that would be labeled as a denomination. We will always have beliefs different than the next group. Its just that many more groups of denominations aren't named. In fact, non-denominational Churches are denominations themselves.
I agree
