Genesis 1: 16God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
Govern-1. to rule over by right of authority.2. to exercise a directing or restraining influence over; guide3. to hold in check; control.4. to serve as or constitute a law for.5. to be regularly accompanied by or require the use of or oversee6. to regulate the speed of7. to exercise the function of government.8. to have predominating influence.

As I was awakened this morning I couldn't help but recognize that this is a great day; and I know everybody says that and it's cliche but honestly it is a great day.
Because last night after I laid me down to sleep amidst all the drama and foolishness we face in ourselves and others day to day; we all were graced to see and embrace this day.
The day comes no matter what's going on in your life or mine or even the weather it still has a job to do and it does it effectively.
Such a powerful scripture it speaks of two lights one greater and one lesser but both created by the hand of Almighty God.
But the the greater light was created to rule over the lesser and Jesus declared that we are the light of the world that shines brightly in darkness and the darkness does not understand or cannot see the Christlike intentions of the light. (John 1: 5)The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
But as  light overwhelms any darkness the same way as you turn on the light-switch of a dark room; you and I that greater light are created to do the same in any situation we face.
Light was created to rule, direct, restrain, serve, oversee, regulate, exercise, and influence the dark arenas of our lives and this world and lastly but first God's church.
You are that light and that city set on a hill that cannot be hidden
