Giving to the Man/Woman of God? Looking for scriptual based answers only. God Bless.

I feel compelled to ask some questions?  Why is it that people find
every way not to sow into the Man/Woman of God or give to the church
and switch the subject to talk about prosperity preacher to find a way
out of giving? Please show me in the Word only that we are not to pay
tithes, offering, or give to the Man/Women of God. Please do not give
ideologies of man, but The Word of God (scriptures) to fully support
your answer. If you answer the questions with no supporting scriptures,
I will comment by replying (Ideology or Man’s opinions).

People do not mind paying any other profession for what they do.  When
it comes to supporting someone who is bring forth the Word of God,
teaching or ministering to you, giving of their time in place of a
secular job, its OK for them to not receive anything?  I read on a
network earlier today that a Man/Women of God should work a secular
job, spend time with their family, and Pastor a church with no
financial  contribution from the members of the church. Why is it that
we think so little concerning the one bringing the Word of God for our
spiritual growth? Where does mindset come from?

The Body of Christ has thrown out the baby with the bath water under
the bus.  We have allowed things that we have seen in the church and
abuses to stop us from following
the Word of God.  There are biblical principals concerning giving.
Also, do we stop giving because others have manipulated, deceive, and
used biblical principals for their own gain (God forbid)?  I also read
where someone said that the Man/Women of God should relieve their
blessing from God and not man...My question is doesn’t God use people
to Bless (ultimately knowing He is the one blessing? Do He going to
drop their financial blessing out the sky? Come on now really, How do
they receive the blessing?
We are talking about while they are here on earth, not when they get to heaven.
(I had to throw that in for the religious folks)

Please do not offer opinions, or your advise to answer the questions.
Also, please try to give 2(two) to (3)three scriptures to support your
answer.

Make sure you are respectful  when giving your answer.  God Bless.

BONUS QUESTION

Finally, as a bonus question can someone tell me several examples on how God blessed people in times of famine?

In contrast to the popular language of preachers today, there is no biblical image of “sowing” into a ministry, or into a man or woman of God. To the contrary, the “sowing” metaphor that is used pertains to preaching the Word of God [Mark 4:3,14]. The apostle Paul built upon this image when he asserted that a preacher should be able to reap carnally where he has sown spiritually [1 Corinthians 9:11]. But in placing the focus on the preacher, Paul illuminated a law of reciprocity at work: the preacher must be the initiator by disseminating the Word; only then do hearers have a responsibility to respond materially.

Nonetheless, it is interesting how Paul would often forgo remuneration for his ministry so that the gospel would not be hindered [1 Corinthians 9:12]. He reminded the Church in Thessalonica, for instance, how he had labored at natural work so as not to be a burden to them [1 Thessalonians 2:9]. Do any modern preachers seek to emulate Paul in his loving sacrifice for the believers: “Here for this third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you; for I do not seek what is yours, but you; for children are not responsible to save up for their parents, but parents for their children. I will most gladly spend and be expended for your souls” [2 Corinthians 12:14,15a]?
Thank you for coming with the Word of God.

Mark 4:3 "Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.
Mark 4:14 Hearken ; Behold , there went out a sower to sow :
Mark 4:14 The sower soweth the word.
Mark 4:20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit , some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
23 If any man have ears to hear , let him hear . 24 He also said to them, "Pay attention to what you are hearing! The measure with which you measure out will be used to measure to you -- and more besides! 24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear : with what measure ye mete , it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given .

It is recommended to read down to verse 34.

I included your 2nd paragraph below, beautiful scriptures which shows Paul's heart. We as ministers of the Gospel should not put a price on what we will accept, when preaching/teaching the Word of God. This is the area, in which we see those who do it for gain. Thank you for your participation and may God bless you.

2 Corinthians 12:14,15 included 16-21
14 Behold , the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children. 15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you ; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved . 16 But be it so , I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile. 17 Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you? 18 I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps? 19 Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying. 20 For I fear , lest , when I come , I shall not find you such as I would , and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults: 21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already , and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed .
1Tim 5:17-18 Thank you for re-posting. You came back with the Word of God. Thank you for participating.
Greetings

I am reposting a response to a question on tithing. Now I am aware that you are talking of giving anything to the church or pastor. I can see where tithing fits. But you must relize that pastors, bishops, preachers, etc. are in no way modern day levites. The tithe can be given to whomever the family chooses as long as they give 10 percent according to the Law.

Gen 28:20 KJV - And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,

Gen 28:21 KJV - So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:

Gen 28:22 KJV - And this stone, which I have set [for] a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

Look at a command.

Lev 27:30 KJV - And all the tithe of the land, [whether] of the seed of the land, [or] of the fruit of the tree, [is] the LORD'S: [it is] holy unto the LORD.

Lev 27:32 KJV - And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, [even] of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.

Now the tithe was for the Levite and your family to eat in the prescence of The Most High. Now there is no temple where The Most High is today and no Levites serving him.

Now if the way be too far; you are to.. Read:

Deu 14:23 KJV - And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

Deu 14:24 KJV - And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; [or] if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:

Deu 14:25 KJV - Then shalt thou turn [it] into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:

Deu 14:26 KJV - And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

That was the annual tithe. Since there is no temple and Israel is now occupied by many nations of people, you must tithe according to Deut 14:24-26. Annual tithe.

Pastors are not Levites and are not equivalent to Levites or priests. But that does not mean you can not give your tithe to the church. As you see, the tithe can be used for whatsoever your soul desireth.
Every three years you are to.... Read:

Deu 14:28 KJV - At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay [it] up within thy gates:

Deu 14:29 KJV - And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which [are] within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.

This is a command to support the Levite, poor, widow, orphans.

The Law of Father YAH was, is and will always be. It is forever.

Also it seems Paul had a job as a tent maker to make ends meet.

Should the head of your flock be supported, YES. Can you use the tithe to support him/her and the church and the ministries in the church? YES. The tithe is the answer. And of course freewill offerings as well can be given anytime.

peace.
There still should be an annual tithe of 10 percent. Every three years there is a tithe of 10 percent. The difference is in the third year your family does not participate in it. You see the annual tithe was for the levite and your family to eat before the prescence of Father YAH. If you could not make it to the temple you could change it to money and buy what ever your soul lusteth after (for your family).

I am not talking about salary. The tithe was for support of the Levite fatherless widow stranger every three years. But this tithe could be seen as a salary for the levite since it was a major way of support for them as they had no inheritance or land to profit from.

My point, from the word the tithe was for your family and with this you can do with it as you desire. Every three years you are to support the shepherd of your flock along with the widow , fatherless and the poor.
But frewill offerings and love offerings or any type of offering can be given anytime to whomever as your family sees fit.

peace.
Well, Praise the Lord. Thank you for responding. (Keith)

you stated:
"The tithe can be given to whomever the family chooses as long as they give 10 percent according to the Law." also, you stated"Pastors are not Levites and are not equivalent to Levites or priests. But that does not mean you can not give your tithe to the church.

I am not sure about who you are talking about when you say "The tithe can be given to whomever the family chooses as long as they give 10 percent according to the Law." "As you see, the tithe can be used for whatsoever your soul desireth."

Incorrect. ( I see that you posted again...Please explain the statement above) concerning the tithes can be giving to whomever the family chooses.... Thank you.

Leviticus 27:30 (King James Version)

30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD. (KJV)

30 Any tithe of the land, from the grain of the land or from the fruit of the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord. (NET)

Malachi 3:7-12
7 Since the days of your forefathers you have turned from my laws and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you," says ADONAI-Tzva'ot. "But you ask, 'In respect to what are we supposed to return?' 8 Can a person rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, 'How have we robbed you?' In tenths and voluntary contributions. 9 A curse is on you, on your whole nation, because you rob me. 10 Bring the whole tenth into the storehouse, so that there will be food in my house, and put me to the test," says ADONAI-Tzva'ot. "See if I won't open for you the floodgates of heaven and pour out for you a blessing far beyond your needs. 11 For your sakes I will forbid the devourer to destroy the yield from your soil; and your vine will not lose its fruit before harvest-time," says ADONAI-Tzva'ot. 12 "All nations will call you happy, for you will be a land of delights," says ADONAI-Tzva'ot. (CLB)

Malachi 3:6-9
3:6 “Since, I, the Lord, do not go back on my promises, you, sons of Jacob, have not perished. 3:7 From the days of your ancestors you have ignored , my commandments, and have not kept them! Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord who rules over all. “But you say, ‘How should we return?’ 3:8 Can a person rob God? You indeed are robbing me, but you say, ‘How are we robbing you?’ In tithes and contributions! 3:9 You are bound for judgment because you are robbing me – this whole nation is guilty.

3:10 “Bring the entire tithe into the storehouse so that there may be food in my temple. Test me in this matter,” says the Lord who rules over all, “to see if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until there is no room for it all. 3:11 Then I will stop the plague 20 from ruining your crops, 21 and the vine will not lose its fruit before harvest,” says the Lord who rules over all. 3:12 “All nations will call you happy, for you indeed will live in 22 a delightful land,” says the Lord who rules over all. (NET)

You stated "Should the head of your flock be supported, YES. Can you use the tithe to support him/her and the church and the ministries in the church? YES. The tithe is the answer. And of course freewill offerings as well can be given anytime."

Your position is, giving to the Man/Woman of God is O.K.

Thanks for your participation.
Thanks but read............

Deu 14:22 KJV - Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.

See the bold type. You and your family are to eat it in the prescence of Father YAH. And if you cant make it there then buy whatever you desire for yourself.

So the tithe is for you and your family even when you brought it to the temple. Its just that you had to share it with the priest who prepared it. Every three years it was for the fatherless, widow, stranger and Levite.

But its ok to give to the head of your faith. It is not required. It is your choice.

peace.
Eccl 11:1-6

1 Send your resources out over the seas; eventually you will reap a return. 2 Divide your merchandise into seven or eight shares, since you don't know what disasters may come on the earth. 3 If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves on the earth. Whether a tree falls toward the north or the south, the place where the tree falls is where it stays. 4 He who keeps watching the wind will never sow; he who keeps looking at the clouds will never reap. 5 Just as you don't know the way of the wind or how bones grow in a pregnant woman's womb, so you don't know the work of God, the maker of everything. 6 In the morning, sow your seed; and don't slack off until evening; for you don't know which sowing will succeed, this, or that, or if both will do well. (CJB)
Paul took a whole chapter to discuss this subject in 1 Cor. 9......However if you take a look at these two versus it will shut down the ney sayers and force them to focus on the word...

1 Cor. 9:13-14

13Do ye not know that those who minister concerning holy things live of the things of the temple, and those who wait upon the altar are partakers with the altar?

14Even so hath the Lord ordained that those who preach the Gospel should live from the Gospel.

The enemy has loosed a two edged sword on the people of God concerning all forms of giving..(ie..Alms, Tithes, First Fruits, Seed, Generational Inheritance).

On one side he cuts us with these Pulpit Pimps that do exist.....Then on the other side he paralyzes the body of Christ and stops us from giving because we are so focused on the Pimps that we neglect being obedient to the word of God and we stop giving all together. Now like it or not...that is a smart plan to stop the people from giving. Its time that we embrace the truth despite the wrong that some are doing by twisting the word for their own gain.

God Bless you Apostle,
Exactly, that is why I was led to ask the question, many use this as an excuse to not give. Ultimately, they suffer financially by forgoing ( to neglect or overlook) the biblical principles and instructions.
