Gods Commandments vs Mans Traditions

Is your church teaching Gods commandments or man's traditions. Yes, I am aware that some traditions are to be passed down from generation to generation. But here lately I am hearing a lot more about what seems right unto man and not what God said in his word. Be careful! Are you looking for religion or salvation there is a difference?

Faith or Observance of the Law

Steven, amen and amen. There is also nothing in scripture to support having an "assistant" pastor. It is a tradition of man born out of pride - the belief that one man (or two) can do all the work of the ministry in the church. Yet this being practised in most churches today. We love the traditions of men even tho it grieves the Fathers heart that we refuse to do His will in this area.

Nice discussion.How about the fact that Traditions are created in a day? Then as the years pass by they become "Traditions".
For example;both Male and Female in the black church are now remaining silent and agreeing that Homosexuality is ok as a tradition of the Black church in the name of love. He who questions this new paradigm shift is accused of "Hatred".
My challenge to you Pastor Benita Howell is,"Can you as a Pastor touch this issue and reject Homosexuality outright without being torn to shreds?". I mean can you honestly begin to shut down the "Traditions of Men" even in your own church and survive? If you do ministry the right way,you become like Jesus in which a lot of people wanted him dead,if not then you have a swell time as a Pastor.

One of the main problems is error in the "Church". The teaching of Grace and un-conditional love allows compromise. Jesus loves you unconditionally just the way you are or His Grace "covers a whole multitude of sins", are taught out of context. yes, Grace does cover a multitude of sins on the condition that you repent. But, the condition (repentence) is left out. Study unconditional love and you will run smack into Humanism. The Greeks and the Romans were agents of the devil. They injected the Church with an unhealthy dose of error, error that serves to insure that "pastors" (hirelings) in too many cases are afforded the lifestyle they desire. And many really don't know themselves. In many instances it is a classic case of 'the blind leading the blind". Pastors who have been taught in error teach in error.

The modern use of unconditional love as a tool to grow membership can be traced to James Dobson, a modern evangelist . I recently raised the question of unconditional love and was told by a pastor to read 1 Corinthians 13. I did. No connection. 1 Corinthians 13 defines how christians are supposed to Love, it doesn't define unconditional Love. The Word says if you keep my commandments you shall remain in my Love. That's a condition. Only God can Love Unconditionally. His unconditionally Love does not extend past Salvation. Once you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour (salvation) you are bound by conditions. Repentance, obedience, Loving God (keeping His Commandments) and loving others as you love yourself.

To teach or believe otherwise is to be in error. Unconditional Love is unbiblical. It's not in the Bible. Period. When you teach unconditional love you place the focus on the person being loved. It sounds like this: Jesus loved/loves you so much in was crucified for you, yes you, put your name in the -------- blank. That's right . See the problem with this ; now the focus is not Jesus but the object of His Love, you, me...

Someone will pay for leading people in error. The Word Says it.

I can't recall since in the 1980's that I've even seen the 10 Commandments posted in many churches that I've attended over the past 20 years.  Back in the day that would be one of the main focal points from entering the door it would be posted on a wall at eye level or behind the pulpit posted on the wall.  They have not only taken the 10 Commandments out of the schools but the churches as well.  The worlds systems have entered the church and most church folk are following church traditions and family traditions of just making sure you show up. 

 

Nobody wants to be held accountable for thier actions so if the Commandments are out of sight nobody will feel convicted to the behaviors that go against the laws of God. If they are not hearing the law it does not become part of memory storage for you to feel bad upon breaking them.

 

Some churches teach that the 10 Commandments is OT and that we live in the NT days and are no longer under those laws.   Wow....it is so important that we study the word of God for ourselves so that we are not mislead by false doctored up teachings that satisfy what we want to hear to be ok with sin.  

 

Tradition says show up for church and ask for forgiveness and all will be fine you are covered by Gods grace and you will be ok...dangerous thinking. There is no fear of God in the world/church today and if the 10 Commandments were being taught and seen the fear of God would overcome you and you would not dare  do some of the things that you do or think about doing that are so against the laws of God.

 ¹⁴If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

 

That is a scripture that everyone is familiar with, but often what is not talked about is "wicked ways."

 

Everyone agrees repentance is needed in the church, but doesn't do a lot of good for their to be repentance in the wrong direction. First thing I see is that it is the church that is not in line with whatever it is God wanted to happen, so 2 Chronicles 7:14 was written for the believer and not the non-believer.

 

The next part is harder because we need to have a better understanding of the things that God wants from us, so we can repent of the things in error and be willing to go in a better direction.

 

Questions that pop up in my little mind and heart are questions about the commandments to start with. Are the commandments important. NT scripture tells us that if we do not keep the commandments we do not love God. One of those bulging commandments is keeping the Sabbath holy. So is the church willing to keep it holy?

 

Secondly in Judaism women had a lot better footing than in Christianity. For example a good woman was worth her weight in gold, in part because she is the one that carried the birthright and not the man. So a question I would raise is "is it considered one of those wicked ways for men to carry the birthright? I mean if God ordained it a certain way, then anything less is wicked.

 

How about God's statutes, covenants, ordnances and of course the commandments. Is anything less considered "wicked ways?" 

 

So here we have an interesting question about salvation which in the OT was keeping God's ways, statutes, covenants and ordnances and commandments, but in the New Testament, because Paul did not write about it, then it seems not to be important, except none of us know what Paul preached or taught because there is no record. All we have is a few letters when a church sort of screwed up.

 

Salvation in another thread from what I could figure out at least was going to the alter saying a prayer and then going off and doing whatever one wants to do. The response was "once saved always saved."

 

Now to me because I am not too bright, but it seems that one is saved even if they do not keep the commandments, statutes or any of that other good stuff? Now to me it would be a man made thing in not keeping the commandments, statutes, ordnances or covenants? Go figure, Now here is the really, really, really scary part, which is if God seems to think His commandments, statutes, ordnances, will and covenants are important and we are not teaching them, then were the heck are we with God? To me that is scary.

When we look at the commandments and man's traditions, that is saying will you listen to God or man.

Which points out that the church as we know it has roots that came about before we were shipped as

slaves across the ocean.

We are now in the "Christianity religion" - The tradition of man. (Christian is Greek)

What is Christianity? to follow Christ? Before the names were changed, they were in Hebrew. Before

Christianity, there was the law of Moses and the prophecy of the coming of our Savior of the Lost Sheep

of Israel. Matthew 10:6-7 - These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles (nations), and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Then Jesus (Yahshua says) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatssoever I have comanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Matthew 28:19-20

 

Teach nations to observe all things. - Tradition is observing Holidays, Birthdays(even the Presidents of the USA and others) and the Roman Calendar Sabbath days and tithing, which was given to the Levites to collect, who are now scattered with the rest of the 12 tribes across the World, I wonder who that sounds like? Britian, Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Brazil where 4.5 millions slaves went during the Trans-atlantic slave trade. And of course America, who is blessed with Yah's anointed, who will teach them how to spread the gospel and worship the Father, without all of the traditions that they made up.

All under the umbrella of the Christianity Religion.

Methodist, Lutheran, Baptist, Prostestant, Catholic, Pentecostal, Seventh day Adventist, Apostolic, Non-Denominational, Presbyterian, Mormonism, Episcopalian etc.

 

The traditions of man is obsolete if you follow the Father and keep his commandments. Be set free, in your minds.

I am a women of the most high and the traditions of man has got the church all messed up.

Heathens always celebrate their birthdays, Herod and Pharoah as well.

 

Yah told Jeremiah about Christmas was going to be the money making and most depressed holiday of the year. Jeremiah Chapter 10

 

Man wants it to be about them and the Father wants it to be about him. All days are his days, you have none.

People don't even know what day they were born on. The Hebrew calendar was the first and it is still present and it will never go away. It's not a month named after Julian or Gregory (current calendar with names of gods)

 

The traditions of man. Pray in the Holy Ghost people. Weep for understanding and live.

Our Father of Heaven wants us to live a simple life and just spread the gospel, not all these distractions. Do your research (books/Web) people, stop listening to every Pastor, Preacher or distractor.  Pray about what I'm saying and trust me, I know it's right.

There is so much scripture on Father saying don't be like the other nations. So much. Stop doing it. Stop doing what they are doing. You want to be like them or please the Father.
