hello BPN, my name is Joshlee and i am a Gospel Rap Artist. and i was interested in the topic of Hip Hop in the church and the responses where closed, so i wanted to continue. for me, you can use Gospel Rap to get the youth to the church, but you have to have something to keep them there, and still want to come back when  they leave. I say this because i went through the transition of hip hop to gospel rap and it happened in the church. it will take more than rap to keep them at the church, if the adults around them are not showing and giving positive attitudes and encouragement, it will not be any interest to stay or come back. its really up to us adults to keep and guide the youth that does walk through the doors. when i visit different churches and minister my music, I let the congregation know that it is up to us, to make sure that the youth come in as children, but leave as God fearing adults. making sure that the youth have pocket bibles to carry around, giving insight to the ones who want to be in the entertainment industry, things of that aspect.  and i always keep my door open for churches who are looking for my services. yes, it can be used a tool, but the adults of the congregation are responsible for the growth and maturity of the youth that walk through there doors. and we as adults see sometimes, that when we dont step up, God has the POWER to use the children to do what we were supposed to do!! so they encourage each other, and show us lessons that we needed to learn ourselves. so please leave your comments on the subject. have a blessed day.
