I say no! All sin seperates us from a loving God. It was out of His love for us that he died on a cross and crucified all sin paying it's debt. Homosexuals are not hated by God and they are not hated by me. The sin they are in is no different than the sin that I struggle with day to day. Be careful about hate, it will eat you from the inside out. Love people, all people the way Christ loves you and me.

Sin is always death. The sin of homosexuals comes with horrible consequences. So does the sin of drunkeness and idolitry and so the list goes on and on. Jesus is the solution and the salvation for all men and for all sin. Thius may not be popular, but standing for Christ and resting in His word has never been the most popular thing to do. Love your neigbor is not a choice. Hate the sin love the sinner is what I have been told.

Sis is sin, there is no "not so bad"sin.True,Homosexuality is a sin,but no worse than lying,adultery,unforgiveness,procrastination,pretense,gossip,etc,etc..And The Word tells us that when we stand for Christ,we`ll be hated, but then they hated Jesus back in the day.

I agree....there is no sin greater than sin itself. (smile)

1st John 5:16 (I believe) tells us that there is a sin unto death and there is sin that is "not" unto death, and if this be so, does it not leads one to believe there is different degrees of sin. Now understand I am not condoning sin, ALL sin is unrighteousness. And though the wages of "sin" not sins" is death, is the worst sin of them all is not accepting the Lord Jesus into one life.

As for homosexuality, though all liars, fornicators, adulterers, and so on shall have their part in the lake, it was only homosexuality that the Bible says are worthy of death (Romans 1:30-32) Somewhere around there. Now understand I am not making any statements of truth, I am just putting something out there to think about. Collar and all, I am not shame to admit I don't know it all.

People we need to read scripture in context and not just in part. And it does not read.. All sin is unrighteousness, It does say that "All unrighteousness is Sin". And the worst sin according to the Bible is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. We must remember that God hates Sin not the sinner. God's will is that none should perish but that all come to repentance. Therefore He wills that all be saved. But of course God knew form the beginning that not everyone would accept His son; and as a result that there would be some that would be lost. And it is not only homosexualality that is worthy of death.

But the Bible says that "The wages (just payment) of sin is death"; that's if one choses to remain and live in sin. Although Jesus has atoned for all sin with His blood, not everyone will accept Him nor the shedding of His blood to cleanse them from their sins.

John 5:16-17 reads as follows, "If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and He shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not unto death."

Matthew 12:31-32 "Wherefore I say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him; neither in this world nor in the world to come".

Revelations 21: 8 "But the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolators and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burn with fire and brimstone: which is the second death".

Now this refers to those people who practice these acts and does not repent and accept Jesus in their life. John is writing the vision shown to him about things to come. " And He said unto me, Write, for these words are true and faithful". verse 5

I conclude that sin is sin; and all unrighteousness is sin. All sin stinks in the nostrils of God. But all sin can be forgiven except the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.

God spoke in Ezekiel 18: 4 " Behold, all souls are mine as the soul of the father; so also the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sinneth, it shall die". (Homosexuals included)

there is a wonderful book out there called "UnChristian" it is a must read. we as Christians get so caught up in identifying everyone else sin we cant even see our own "judging others" which is so common today to say the least of the many other hidden truths about us that we have refused to allow God to purge out of us, un dealt with issues. The focus on homosexuality today and have this I'm more holier than thou attitude has placed Christianity in such a negative state. Anyone truly dealing with internal issues, especially something like this, must be given the greatest compassion by love and acceptance (not of the act itself, but of the individual)

Hey, I have an idea, let's list ALL the sins that can possibly be committed and rate them according to degree of death.

Here's the rating scale:

1 - bad death
2 - really bad death
3 - really really bad death
4 - immediate disintegration *POOF*

Hmmm, I wonder how long it will take to list every possible sin that mankind could commit both in word, deed and thought????

Likewise, is it really something worth spending time on... you know.. being more sin-conscious than faith/holy living/hopeful/salvation-conscious. I mean which would bring life to you... focusing on the sin that so easily besets folk or bringing the Light of life into a sinfully dark world?

John 8:12
Jesus said, I am the Light of the world
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness
but will have....

the Light of life!!!

So, we could be like our fellow Hebrew brethren of old and focus on the list of commandments (both positive and negative ones) and wonder which is the GREATEST of commandments or in this case the greatest or worst sin....

OR

We could ...

Love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves and therefore FULFILL the whole sha-bang!

The choice is yours.

WANNA MAKE A LIST AND SEE HOW FAR THE RABBIT HOLE GOES???

Minister Tracy I agree with you. We don't have to list sins nor count them. For the bible says that, "All unrighteouness is sin". But the most important and the greatest thing for mankind is to accept Jesus and his shed blood which takes away the sins of the world. The bible say that if you should transgress even one of God's laws, it's as if you have tressgress all of his laws. So our focus should be to love God with all your heart, soul and mind; and love your neighbor as yourself. Therefore fulfilling the whole law. Jesus said that He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Will we let his coming and dieing be in vain?

a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Sin by any other description or title is... sin.

Yes! I think we're all on the same page here. And the bible says that all sin stinks in the nostrils of God. That' why Jesus came as a sweet smelling savour and shed his blood to take away the stinch of sin. And God accepted and blessed his sacrafice. Therefore we don't have to live in sin anymore. For how can we who are dead to sin live any longer in sin? Amen.

Praise God for you John Hosey.
You have been consistently "Right On" in you remarks. Those who differ from what you are saying are not fully understanding or accepting God's divine plan of salvation. Without accepting Jesus Christ, we are bound to endure the penalty of sin which is eternal damnation. But when we accept Jesus Christ, we are covered by His blood. Which means the punishment of death that we all deserve [because we were all born in sin] we are spared, because when God looks at us, He sees the blood of His Son. There is such a thing as disobedience. Where ever we fall short, that's sin. Commission or Omission, it's still sin. No need to try to categorize any of it. Some of the questions or comments that you have received; in my opinion, have dealt with earthly consequences or circumstances. While others deal more with eternal consequences or death.
The list of consequenses to sin here on earth are many and that's only multiplied by the list of variables and complexities of one behaviors. There are only two eternal consequences to sin and they are death or life through accepting Jesus Christ.

Mark 3:29 - But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation. I quote this scripture because many are using it without fully understanding what it means. I urge everyone to do what preachers have been doing for years, which pray for illumination, study for approval, seek God's face and search for an experience mentors. Get as much help as you need. From study bibles to concordances to online tools; research and try the spirit by the spirit. A good dictionary will tell you most of the meanings of the word blaspheme. Then you would read the verse, backup and read the chapter; Read the previous chapter and then the following chapter, if need be. When you are done reading, studying, meditating and praying about what you've read; there should be no doubt as to who is speaking-Who they are speaking too-What they are talking about-Why they are talking about it and what they mean.

Mark 3:29 - But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation. In this verse, Jesus is talking to the Scribes and Pharisees who were claiming that He [Jesus Christ] was not who He said he was. They rejected Him and what He was doing. Their rejection of Jesus was disrespectful, slanderous, irreverent and offensive to say the least. To say the most, it was blasphemous. When they said he was operating in black magic [beelzebub] Matthew 12:24 - But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. And so after all these kinds of rejection of His divine duty and purpose, he said that there is a sin that cannot be forgiven. And that would be the sin of rejecting Him.BLASPHEME HIS SPIRIT- Rejecting the The Holy Spirit, which is the only way one can be save] This should be self explanitory why this sin cannot be forgiven when the the SINNER rejects the the FORGIVER. Help us to understand Your Word Lord.

Thanks John and others who understand that Jesus Chris is the only way. When He saved the thief on the cross, it meant He can save who society says is the best or the worst of us. Be encourage and Study,
Pray, and Meditate on the Word of God. There is a world of sinners who are trying to get in through their good works. Works determine your wittness and your reward. Let's not get it twisted. Jesus is the only Way.
