Our Laws, Our Way, Our Life!  part 1

When we look at the LAW”S of the Most High, what do we see?

Well, that depends on who you ask….some of the answers can be quite startling while some can be dead on….approximately 15 years ago I went out and asked this question among, Jews, Christians. Muslims’, Rasta’s and Buddhist…below are some of the most stated comments..

 

1. Instructions

2. Schoolmaster.

3. Old laws that no longer have bearing on us.

4. Jesus’ laws

5. A part of the Jew-ish covenant/Jew-ish Laws.

6. The Torah

7. The Torah and Talmud.

8. Not for Christians unless jc spoke on them.

As I looked over these and others after not seeing them for awhile, I was shocked at some of them in that many people still feel like this even today. “the law is abolished” is what I remember hearing in church back in the late 70’s. “Jesus paid it all” is what I continued to hear all though my adult hood. As I began to be trusted to teach in church, I could not and would not just outright say he paid it all because to me it did not make sense, so I would preach around it..LOL…this was hard in a way because the whole point of getting people to “come down to the altar to get saved, was to show them that ALL THEIR SIN would be WIPED AWAY.

The sad thing is that walking down to an altar was not the answer, the answers were not only in the basic 10 commandments that many of us learned as children in Sunday school, but it was using these commands as a way of life.

Moshe is speaking in Debarim (Deuteronomy) 4:1” Now, Yisrael, listen to the laws and the right rulings (ordinances), which I am teaching you, to do them; that YOU MAY LIVE, and go in and possess the land which Yahuwah, the Elohiym of your fathers, gives you.”


There can be no mistake that the Most High intended for HIS Nation of Yisrael to live by these laws in their communities, in THEIR LAND!  IT is also NO mistake that these laws were to be read to Yisrael as often as instructed by the Most High. We have Shabbat “services” where much of the service is dedicated to commentary rather than just reading the word’s of the Most High and that needs to change.

Our anointed forefather continues to say ; (verses 4-8) “But you who did cleave to Yahuwah your Elohim are alive today, every one of you... See, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as Yahuwah my Elohim commanded me that you should do them in the land which you go to possess.  And you shall guard and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who shall hear all these laws, and they will say,  “Only a wise and understanding people is this great nation..For what great nation is there, that has an Elohiym so near to them, as Yahuwah our Elohiym is to us whenever we call on him?

And what great nation is there, that has such statutes and ordinances so righteous like all this Torah, which I set before you this day?

When we “cleave” to Yah, we are cleaving to his Torah, to his laws and instructions, to his ordinances this is what keeps our life long and prosperous, this is what keeps us from the sin that is learned from the other nations this is what the laws are to us… LIFE! But also, the laws, the wisdom and understanding, that comes from it is not just for knowledge sake but for a sign to our people AND other nations to see that YAH IS WITH US…These laws are and were given to our people long before they entered into the land…These laws were given to Yisrael to LEARN THEM before and DO THEM after they entered into the land, See, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as Yahuwah my Elohiym commanded me that you should do them in the land which you go to possess.

 
Yisrael today is in a position that is not unlike that of other generations of our forefathers except for the fact that we do not have ONE specific leader such as Moshe or Yahoshua, we do not have judges/saviors/deliverers such as Othniel (Shophetim/judges 3:9), Ehud (Shophetim/judges 3:15), or Shamgar (Shophetim /judges 3:31).  We do have many teachers but the one to LEAD US OUT OF THE LANDS THAT YAH HAS SCATTERED YISRAEL IN HAS YET TO COME.

This IS and has ALWAYS been the purpose of YAH’s saviors…to get us out of the bondage that we were in under the other nations at any one given time.  If we read through the judges we would see that there were generations of Yisraelite’s that had peace… (Shophetim 3:10, 30) yet they also went into bondage because they did not do what was right (Shophetim 2:11/3:5-8/3:12-14).

*We are in the same situation, we are overrun by the “ways of the nation’s” many talk about law but don’t teach it and in some way’s I’m sure some don’t DO THEM.  One of the hypotheses that we have argued in this very group is about a messiah that DIED FOR SIN. We will see as we study YAH'S LAWS that this has never been an M.O. from YAH. We will see by studying these ordinances and history of our people that Yah’s pattern has ALWAYS been to get Yisrael to Obey his laws and this is the only way for us to be FREE FROM SIN. We will see by learning these laws that YAH’s pattern has ALWAYS been to RAISE UP a deliverer to show the power of the Most High and have Yisrael TURN BACK TO HIM (YAH) and turn away from their serving the elohiym of the other nations. We will see that in our Hebrew history that this has occurred over and over again…and even today this is what the Most High is calling us back to do.

*NOTE – THIS IS THE ONLY TIME IN THIS STUDY THAT I WILL HAVE MENTIONED THE Y’SHUA AS MESSIAH DEBATE….THIS IS NOT THE MAIN FOCUS OF THE STUDY THEREFORE ANY COMMENTS TO DEBATE THIS WILL BE DELETED….WE MUST LEARN LAW!!

Some of us if not all of us have not learned Torah from birth. Some may be in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and even older and have just come to know the name of the creator let alone that they are actually a descendant of Abraham.  This creates many issues for us. The influences of the religions of the Nations have so affected our beings that what seems right may not be right in the eyes of the Most High…

Mishle (Proverbs) 14:12 There is a way which seems right to a man, But in the end it leads to death.

There is a rebellion that we see when it comes to our Laws. Part of this is because we are just waking up to them. just like a teen may rebel against "Rules of the home" because when they were younger they did not have these rules, some who did not have these laws, or were not taught the importance of them in religion at times rebel when they are brought to our attention. Remember, we are a people who are waking up to a life not lived. 

Eze 37:4,5 Again he said to me, Prophesy over these bones, and tell them, you dry bones, hear the word of Yahuwah.

Thus says the Master Yahuwah to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 

"When we read Yah's written word audibly, we hear what He is saying, this is a form of prophesying, when I or anyone teaches in a room of people we are prophesying/proclaiming the Written words of Yahuwah..When these words enter your ears and you meditate (speaking is also meditation) on them you are allowing HIS WORDS to breathe life into your sleeping being. This is the benefit of "hearing the word" of YAHUWAH."  

I know many “good” Rasta’s, Muslims, Christians, Buddhist’s etc….in many cases the issue is not how good they are but who they serve…in some ways I say at times that they have a better hold on OUR LAWS than we do, and this is a sad thing to say yet true. Our stubbornness has afforded religion to take hold of OUR COMMANDS/WAY OF LIFE and WALK in them BETTER than we do, YET we are suppose to be a LIGHT TO THE GENTILES INCLUDING THOSE OF YISRAEL WHO ARE ASLEEP?  Things are backwards Yisrael!!!...

The fact of the matter is many (or some) of these religions do not where their belief ON THEIR SHOULDER…They live their lives and let that be their LIGHT…We are not so quiet in ours…in fact we try so much to prove that we follow law or other aspects of doctrine that not only do we speak to the others who practice religion but we are speaking it against our own brothers and sisters to prove what?

Again, it’s backwards..

We are a NATION; we represent a KINGDOM that has yet to be established on this earth AGAIN. What we should be doing as A NATION is re-learning our laws and statutes or better yet our CONSTITUTION, our BI-LAWS, our ORDINANCES, OUR WAY OR LIFE!!

We who are so-called citizens of the United States have way of life based on the Constitution of the United States of America.

We who are citizens of the Nation of Yisrael have a way of life based on our Constitution, our covenant, our laws and right rulings given by the creator, our Abba YAHUWAH OF HOSTS. Let us not wait till we enter the land, let us begin the practice of learning, knowing and doing the laws of YAH. Prayerfully this study will bring us into the lifestyle of HIS LAWS and a peace and prosperity of life that comes with obedience to them.

Deuteronomy 6:1-3 Now this is the commandment, the statutes, and the ordinances, which Yahuwah your Elohiym commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land where you go over to possess it; that you might fear Yahuwah your Elohiym, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son`s son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged Hear therefore, Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey..

Deuteronomy 30:15, 16 Behold, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil; in that I command you this day to love Yahuwah your Elohiym, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, that you may live and multiply, and that Yahuwah your Elohiym may bless you in the land where you go in to possess it.
