UP ALL NIGHT!!!
“After all, we don't want to unwittingly give Satan an opening for yet more mischief—we're not oblivious to his sly ways!” 2 Corinthians 2:11 (The Message)
I have been up all night with a sick puppy!!! Nothing serious—just the usual throwing up after eating any and everything he can find that is not meant for canine consumption. And because I have had an abundance of time to think, my thoughts have led me to imagining that God must experience nights like this one when despite all that He has said and done, we continue to “eat” of the very sins He has warned us against.
Certainly Proverbs gives a long and running list of things to avoid in this life, yet we just can’t seem to stay away from the things that get us into trouble!!! I’m sure there are times when it must appear that we are in league with Satan, himself!!!! We are not ignorant of his devices, yet like my puppy, we try it thinking the outcome might be different just this once. Paul put it this way in Galatians 3:1—“O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, that you should not obey the truth (?)…” The TRUTH!!! What a concept!!!
Well, I am going to bed to get some rest before the next emergency—aren’t you glad that God neither slumbers nor sleeps!!! He is always up all night!!!
