Just wanted to see whose tapping in.... When we are preaching should we also be teaching? If your answer is a resounding 'yes' when we are not teaching what are we donig? Following the pattern of Jesus Christ - who was the master teacher how influential or important is it to you to empower and embrace the next generation? How effectual is your teaching? What tools are you using?
Apostles are the teachers and influence of our spiritual foundation.
Prophets are the vision - or those which should see and tell the direction of the body.
Pastors hold the heartbeat of God and are here to shepherd (guide) the people.
Evangelist are those spiritual cheerleaders who go from house to house exciting and igniting those in the body with sound doctrine and the miraculous.
Teachers are set to indoctrinate the disciples with the truth of the word. They are the set voice of what the local church leader may be 'preaching and teaching' those in the congregation.

Great post Dr. Thoams. in seminary they put it this way. To teach means to explain the word of God. To preach means to proclaim the word of God. When we teach or preach it should be the Gospel of Jesus the Christ . The message must be biblically based, and used . To bring out God's word, will, and way. The people should not leave the same way they came. Our teaching and preaching should empower the believer to trust and have faith in God. also to remind us that if we make one step,God will make two.
