A registered convicted sex predator is attending your church services on a regular basis.

What if the offender was a member of the clergy?

What are you obligation to the rest of the church parishoners as to knowledge of his background (different states have different laws)?

How can you minister to the sex offender and not alienate your congregants?

Wow, thats a good one. See if you stand for the sex offender taking the side that he or she may have found God and it comes back that they were really just using your church to fill their habbit, then you have put you and Gods people at Risk!

But, Yep there is always a but. Who are we to judge. Yes I have children and I would not want them to be near or around any sex offender without me there. But do we deny any human the word of God, the chance to learn the truth? If this person truely has a changed heart in Christ then he or she should be open to letting the church know what his or hers sins were in the past. And as a church we should do as Jesus has commanded us. Of course in the old days it was much simpler. We would just stone him and let God deal with the rest. However, those days are gone. So we must deal with it.

I belive that we have a responsibility to all three. God first, the church second and the person third. We follow Gods word by sharring it with all, we protect the church by letting them know who this person is, and we welcome this person. Because what if they have changed? And we condem them. If they havent changed it will show, because the people know they will watch. And PRAYER. Prayer for protection and salvation. We MUST not forget the power of Prayer and the protection of Christ.

Its a sticky problem, but not one God cant handle. So lets bring them in and let the big man upstairs handle him or her.
Great response .........Thanks!
