Should a pastor that spends most of his time preaching and teaching get paid for what God has him to do? I know what the scriptures says about this, but would you pastor for free?

Yes you are right according to the sriptues a preacher should get paid.
Paul told them on the first day of the week. They should they finances to the church. So when he come they will not have aproblem taking care of. Him.
(I am texting this so I am paraphasing)
Can a church fire a Pastore sure. If they find that he is not upholding his position that have that right. Vacation yes. The body needs rest. After the disciples came back from witnessing Jesus said come and rest.

I posted some if not all of this earlier, Paul took nothing from anyone not only did he take care of himself but those who traveled with him.
(Act 20:31) Therefore watch and remember that for the time of three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.
(Act 20:32) And now, brothers, I commend you to God, and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
(Act 20:33) I have coveted no man's silver or gold or apparel.
(Act 20:34) Yea, you yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my needs, and to those who were with me.

If they can then a resounding yes! If not, then no one should have more than another, especially the Pastor who should be more like the Savior than anyone.

YaaKov,
I guess that is a compliment "referring to me as a man" when indeed I am a woman with no 'earthly husband' and being 'young' since our ages (in this world) are not even a year apart (unless you meant 'maturity'? Which if that is the case: I take no offense).

I feel that god give his angle an vision and all of god work is for free and thata men of god should realize that he his self can do some much he can hold an job he can preach for free maintain his family and god wll take care of him and not the people of the church to support his rent gas, home when you are a part of god he will take care of you its about patience and determination and godseeing can you do it all. can you. and from that point god will bless you in a way that no one can ever see invisable men of god. i only hope and pray that all the childrens will live pass 25 and that the world can see want is god message.

The reason that I started this discusion. Is that I see a lot Pastors putting into the church and their people. And the church is not taking care of their leaders. Pastors are going without giving more than what they. Are getting from their people.

Pastor Edwards:

Bless you and all the Pastors who are true to their call, they should be paid! Unfortunately there is also a lot of Pastors on the flip side. They fleece their flock, they are cold to their members, they do not call or pray for their members when they are sick and some only work four hours on Sunday. We also have the new trend of Pastors that are more of CEO’s than Sheppard’s.

A Pastor is a call from God and not all Ministers/Preachers are called to be pastors. But in church a lot Ministers are viewed as strange or less anointed when we say that we are not called to be Pastors. That we want to do what God called us to do and that doesn’t make us less of a leader. When I was called, I heard the Lord say that I had the spirit of Caleb. Caleb was a leader but he wasn’t Moses or Joshua.
