God willing, The Brother Marcus Internet Radio and Television Show continues this weekend with another discussion on black men in 2010. During this show we want to explore why some men would rather “shack up”  than to get married to a woman? If a man is enjoying all the good cooking and all the other comforts of marriage in addition to all the milk that he can handle from a woman without a marriage commitment then why would a man screw all of that up? What is it about being legally married to a woman that makes so many men quake in their boots? Why are so many women willing to continue to play house with a man and just pretending that she is married to him? How much at fault are the women who have let a man live with them for ten to twenty years and he still hasn’t married them? Have our communities accepted shacking versus getting married?

Why should a man commit to marrying the woman instead of shacking up with her? How does a man and a woman specifically benefit from marriage? What benefits will a man and woman never enjoy just shackin? How does marriage differ from shacking? Is a woman devaluing herself to stay in that kind of relationship? Why is marriage called the "power base" of a man? Why do couples who have  successfully shacked together for years sometimes not make it together once they decide to get married? Why were women sometimes referred to as 'heifers' or female cows back in the day by men? Will men ever turn in their playas cards?
