The holy apostle Paul thanked God that he spoke in tongues - which is a gift from God. He said he spoke in tongues more than all of them.
Paul instructed the Church not to forbid speaking in tongues and in another place he says -> he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries.”

But is the gift of tongues given to EVERYBODY in the Church?

He asks these rhetorical questions as if everyone knew the answer already:
Does everyone have the gifts of healings? Did they all speak with tongues? Does everyone interpret? And in another place he said that he WISHED that they all spoke in tongues - as if they all did not have it.
What are your thoughts?
Is the gift of tongues for today?
Does the Lord mind if you speak in tongues at Church when there is no interpreter?
Are you even indwelt by the Holy Spirit if you dont speak in the tongues of angels/unknown tongues?

Do animals speak in tongues too?
Zeal,

Reading the teaching on 'speaking in tongues' - I posted, with its Hebrew understanding of scriptures - what did you come away with?
Why do you have to have different understandings. This is scripture that let's me know that the Lord gives the increase.

Isaiah 28:9-11 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people

2Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
"...Why do you have to have different understandings. This is scripture that let's me know that the Lord gives the increase..."

Because your view on tongues is sad.
Besides what did you think of the post on tongues with its' Hebrew leanings?
Yall should have lapped that up.
I'll let you know when you post something with a Hebrew understanding. Ask Jewish rabbis whether or not Messianic Judaism is "Jewish". Of course this was also posted under the pretense of them being the "real" Jews. However, Jew is the name of someone who practices a religion called JU-DAISM. JUDAH was only 1 of 12 tribes. Which Jewish person do you know of that traces their lineage to Dan, Benjamin, Asher, Gad, etc. And they never lost their identity. These were converted to Judaism, the religion. Paul didn't have too many nice things to say about the "Jews' religion" and neither do I.

It is clear to me that they have a Christian pentecostal view of tongues. I have already shown how they are in error. The whole point of groanings of the spirit is that they are not words at all, but MOANS. In other words, if you are so hurt that all you can do is cry, your tears will be interpreted. What I'm trying to get you to understand, and maybe I'm going about it the wrong way, is that the purpose of language is COMMUNICATION and in the bible this is always the case. But when language fails G-d doesn't. When you have no words to say it doesn't matter because he never needed your words in the first place. YHWH knows the heart so he knows what's on your mind before words even form. So you don't actually have to SAY anything.

Matthew 6
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Birds and plants don't have to pray for these things. Most of the times we ask out of want and concern as if G-d doesn't know what we need better than we do. I'm not saying don't pray. But understand that G-d knows your prayer before you ask. There may not even BE a verbal language in heaven. Have you ever considered that? Of course if it is I can promise you that all the "speaking in tongues" I have heard isn't it. Why? Because there is no syntax or structure. It's gibberish.

I learned a lot of Japanese just by listening and seeing the translations on the screen. I'm no genius. All you really have to do is isolate words and match them to what's being translated. You can isolate words because there is syntax and structure. If it was gibberish it would be impossible to understand. Have you ever heard someone speak in tongues who could also translate? Did they ever disagree with someone else who translated what they said?

Shalom
