If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. I John 4:20 (NASB)

The thought came to me concerning love for the brethren. How can people say they love God when they hate their brothers and sisters. Some may not look as though they hate, but we really do when there is no honor, no trust, or no reverence.

Even if you see a sister or brother in a need and choose not to help them, how can you say the love of God is in you? Is not God dwelling within us and our brothers and sisters? When we speak against one, are we not speaking against God? If we encourage one, aren't we encouraging the Christ within them as well?

I believe many times, we fail to see our brothers and sisters spiritually and look at them according to the lust of their flesh. Have we forgotten that we are spirit first, wrapped up with flesh?

Today, I'm speaking for myself that I will thrive to see Christ in mankind and love God through them.
