Why is that we as " BELIEVERS " judge others based on their TESTAMONY that they share with us in church? I thought that we were overcome by the words of our testimony. I stood up in church during our testimony service and thanked God for deliverance from being sexually abused by family members. During the service and after the service people told me that I shouldn't have said that at all. Why is it ok for you to stand before the church and thank God for deliverance from drugs / alcohol etc. but I can't thank him for what he has done for me?

Good Afternoon,

You can thank him for what he has done for you. And you should, maybe someone was going through the same thing and needed to hear that the LORD has delivered you from the abuse. People know this type of stuff happens but are not ready to deal with it. And sometimes I believe it is just the enemy trying to get into your head and make you feel bad about what you said. Don't feel bad. If people were to tell the truth about what the LORD really delivered them from and not be ashamed, I feel and believe that the LORD would get his true glory out of our lives.

So don't mind what a few people say long as you know that the LORD was please, and in the end that is what is going to matter anyway.

Thank you for sharing and God Bless you.
