I would like to send prayers to the Martin family. I was gonna let the case play out before I spoke on Zimmerman & the lack of concern from law enforcement that didn't do a proper investigation. The police could have just simply picked up Martin cell phone & dialed the last number called. It's sad that the parents had to call a missing person report before they found out.

Was Trayvon Martin Targeted For Being Black?
I have to say yes because Martin skin color raised suspicion of Zimmerman.

Was Trayvon Martin Murdered? I would have to say yes.

It was the chase that lead to the confrontation & if Zimmerman would have listened to the dispatcher than Trayvon Martin would still be here. If Zimmerman was so concerned than he could have just followed Martin home instead of chasing him & than provoking a confrontation. That lead to Trayvon Martin murder.

Is Zimmerman a racist?
Well, there are black folks, mainly black women, in the community that would regularly inform Zimmerman when they were living out of town so that he could keep an eye on their place. Hamilton said that when she moved into the middle-class, racially mixed community of about 250 identical townhouses, the black neighbor told her, "Hey, if you need anything, you picked a really good area, since George is part of our neighborhood watch."

I bet before the shooting most black people in the community trusted Zimmerman & appreciated his value to the community.

Was Zimmerman a wannabe cop that over did his role as neighborhood watch when it came to blacks that visited the community? Did Zimmerman gun permit give him a since of authority & control? I would have to say yes.

Sanford police had beefed up patrols in the neighborhood and that officers on bicycles were making random checks of front yards and backyards. It was not clear how big the neighborhood watch was, but Zimmerman was the dominant force.

Zimmerman was told not to follow Martin by the dispatcher. Not only did Zimmerman continue to follow the teenager he tried to physically stop Martin. Now Zimmerman was once charged with resisting arrest with violence so what make Zimmerman think someone else is gonna let a non-law enforcement officer physically stop them?

Did Martin look like he was up to no good?
Why didn't the person working at the store that sold Martin the Skittles and an iced tea call police about a suspicious person?

Was it racist?
Would a black man have seen Martin as suspicious & reacted the same as Zimmerman after seeing Martin walk down the street? Black law-enforcement officers do it everyday & we know it. Black men not in law enforcement, based on their mentality, view other black folks as suspicious based on what society has deemed acceptable.

What's non-threatening?
Would an Asian walking down the street at night wearing Jordan gear from head to toe look threatening?

What happened?
I think Martin got the best out of the two in the confrontation & when that happened Zimmerman got even more angry because Martin got the better of the fight. The fight was loud enough that neighbors called 911 with reports of a struggle. Zimmerman was bleeding from his head & his back was covered in grass stains.

What if Zimmerman became a cop?
The world is filled with law-enforcement with too much authority they abuse. Before the year 2000 my problem with law enforcement was because of what kind of car I was driving & I wasn't harassed a lot, but after the year 2000 I faced discrimination sometime almost every day. I was lied on by law enforcement, set-up by law enforcement & in a couple of those cases they told me that they could make-up something & they did.

Back to the story, people that can afford to live in gated communities expect extra safety precautions to be taken, sort of like a college community. We know on a college campus when Caucasians, Asians, Indians & even Latinos students steal it doesn’t reflect on other Caucasians, Asians & Indians that visit the college community. When Caucasians & Asians go on a shooting spree it doesn’t reflect on other Caucasians & Asians that visit the campus. When a girl is date raped at an all white college party it doesn’t reflect on every white male that visit the campus. When crime is committed by a black person in a community it reflects on every black male in the city. Certain black men appearance raise concern from the community, gated community or college community, even from other black people. Certain black men based on facial features are seen as threatening, non intelligent & suspicious.

I think Zimmerman targeted Martin based on his skin color & the shooting happened because Zimmerman lost the fight. Was it self-defense? Why did Zimmerman continue to follow Martin after the dispatcher told him not to? I think because Zimmerman was looking for trouble, anything, something, looking for action. I think Zimmerman provoked the confrontation & law enforcement on the scene should have arrested Zimmerman on the spot.

A teenager carrying a bag of Skittles and an iced tea don't seem like he's up to anything but enjoying a snack & trying to get out of the rain until he was confronted by Zimmerman. Martin would be here today if he was never chased by Zimmerman & provoked to a confrontation. What strike me as strange, Zimmerman look like he weigh over 200 pounds & out weigh the teenager Martin. So Martin had to feel like he was fighting for his life.

It's sad that the parents had to call a missing person report before they found out. I found several cell phones & called the last number dialed & I was able to make contact with someone that recognized the number on their phone & I was able to return the phone. I know lawsuits don't ever take away the pain, but I feel the parents should sue the homeowners association & the law enforcement that didn't investigate the case properly.

The Martin family, CNN, MSNBC & others asked why did the police do a criminal background check on Martin & not Zimmerman? We all know the question to that answer. The police did a criminal background check on Martin because if Martin had anything on his record we wouldn't be hear discussing this & no one could question the shooting. If Martin had violence on his record such as assault it would justify the shooting. If Martin had criminal trespass on his record it would justify the shooting, if Martin walked into a place that was open they could call it breaking & entering even if the business was open that could justify the shooting. Anything on his record could have justified the shooting. The police didn't wanna look at Martin size & weight & Zimmerman size & weight & question the self defense story of Zimmerman. The police didn't wanna look at the fact that Martin had NO WEAPON on him. how does Zimmerman feel threatened by an unarmed teenager carrying a bag of candy & a ice tea? If Zimmerman felt Martin was on something than why not wait for back-up?

You see the police saw a black teenager on the ground shot to death & they immediately tried to justify the shooting based on Zimmerman story of self defense. The police performed a drug test on Martin to justify Zimmerman story. What if Martin had experimented & had smoked pot a week before the confrontation with Zimmerman & decided it wasn't for him, but still had pot in his system would that justify the shooting? Would that justify the phone calls from Martin & Zimmerman? Martin didn't have a criminal record or drugs in his system, but Zimmerman did. Zimmerman has a violent criminal record that the home association & law enforcement seem to don't care about, but if Martin had a violent criminal record this story wouldn't be news worthy & lawsuits wouldn't be news worthy.

Geraldo Rivera said, "I think the hoodie is as much responsible for Trayvon Martin's death as George Zimmerman was," Rivera said on Fox and Friends. "You have to recognize that this whole stylizing yourself as a gangsta—you're going to be a gangsta wannabe, well people are going to perceive you as a menace. That's what happens. It is an instant, reflexive action."

I would like to know how is wearing a hoodie gangsta???

What's dressed more appropriately?

Should everyone wear a suit or should everyone dress in non-threatening Caucasian clothing?

How is wearing athletic clothing threatening? It's not the clothing it's the man wearing the clothes that's threatening.

I see Caucasians, Asians, Indians & Middle Eastern's walk around wearing hoodies even when it's not raining or cold & no one ever perceive them as being menacing.

I know I asked this question already, what's non-threatening?
Would an Asian walking down the street at night wearing Jordan gear from head to toe look threatening?

Like I was telling my Harlem family, the laws forced folks to change, but they still have the same hate & mentality. If you're a black man & can't afford a lot of things u may as well be living in the 40's because if you look like u can't afford to sue than your constitutional & civil rights can & will be violated.

I believe if they dont arrest this guy soon and take it to trial there will be riots...and Obama wont be re-elected.

I believe if he is arrested and it goes to crt and he is not found guilty (which will be long after the election) - there may and there may not be riots but it will depend on if Obama has been re-elected president.

Cooler heads must prevail.

White people WANT us to beef with spanish people because Zimmerman seems to be half hispanic.  If we do - Obama will lose alot of votes.

Cooler heads must prevail.

Honestly, I don't think this case will have anything to do with the elections & I don't see how Caucasians want black folks to beef with Latinos. A very large number of Caucasians & Latinos are showing the Martin family a great deal of support in their prayers. Remember, an Irish American Caucasian man named Kevin Cunningham started the petition that received 2 million signatures & help draw international attention to the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. Caucasian have nothing to do with blacks & Latinos beefing with one another. Blacks & Latinos had a problem long before this case, look at the Black & Latino Gangs in L.A. & NY. Let's not forget, black folks have a tremendous amount of self hate & tremendous amount of hate for other black folks.

Besides the gang war, hard working Latinos living below poverty, living middle class & above middle class have always had a problem with black folks. I remember when I was a teenager I dated a Latino girl for a while & she told me that her mother like black people & her father couldn't stand black men, but had a lot of black friends.

I think the problem with black Americans is that we try & embrace every minority group that smile in the black community face & treat them as if they're the same as being black in America. We do this with Latinos, Asians & especially ethnic groups with color like Indians or Middle Eastern's. Black activist groups & so-called black leaders need to stop trying to identify with every minority group as if they're the same as black Americans. Most ethnic groups have a strong connection with their heritage, they speak their traditional language, they have traditional restaurants, they have relatives in their native country, they can identify & sometime embrace, like Zimmerman, their Caucasian roots by the way of Indo-Aryan & Indo-European, we don't relate to any of that & they know it.

If black folks choose to riot over a non-arrest or non-conviction of Zimmerman what community will the riots take place in? More than likely an already poverty stricken black community. I don't think rioting will do anything, but harm the black community, protest not riot.

A Cuban Latino named Soledad O'Brain host a show called Black In America on CNN. Soledad is doing a show dedicated to bringing attention to the matter. Can justice be fair? Can justice be blind? Soledad O'Brien hosts a town hall, "Beyond Trayvon: Race and Justice in America." 8 p.m. ET Friday, March 29, on CNN.

Just caught the re-play of Soledad O'Brian show Black in America Can justice be fair? Can justice be blind? "Beyond Trayvon: Race and Justice in America."

The first thing law-enforcement do when approaching a suspect is tell the suspect that their law enforcement.

I would like to know did Zimmerman ever tell Trayvon Martin that he was community watch?  Did Zimmerman ever tell Martin at anytime that he was armed because he was community watch? From the statement given to the police & the statements from the Zimmerman family & friends that's speaking for him no one ever said that Zimmerman approached Trayvon & said, " I'm community watch, I'm armed because I'm community watch." Zimmerman said Trayvon went for his gun. Well, if I'm coming back from the store & I notice someone following me & we get into a confrontation with that person & I notice a knife or gun I'm gonna try to fight for my life. I don't know if Martin went for the gun or not, but If it was me, I would try to disarm that person because I know if I don't than that person could very well take my life. It's up to a jury to find Zimmerman guilty, but if Zimmerman would have listened to the dispatcher there would have been no confrontation with Martin. It doesn't matter if Martin was suspended from school & being punished by his parents & he didn't want to be there away from home. WAS THERE A CRIME BEING COMMITTED??? IF ZIMMERMAN WOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE DISPATCHER THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO CONFRONTATION.

I know all of that.

Im not talking about people of all shades that are siding with those seeking justice for Trayvon.

Im talking about those that are not.

Also the election has every every every thing to do with the election.

How do you think they have the wicked Stand Your Ground Laws on the books around the country?

Because poor people and brown people and black people dont vote.  The polilticians that voted in the wicked law were voted in by white people that want to kill minorities.

The media has done a very good job bringing the voice of the families, friends & the American people to the for front. I think the media has tried to be very sensitive to this case. People want answers CNN, MSNBC & the media outlets have tried to do the best at bringing a lot of light to this very sensitive case.

Here's the article:
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/cutline/trayvon-martin-case-exposes-wor...

The Trayvon Martin case has exposed some of the media's worst tendencies--selective editing, rushing to judgment, stoking anger for ratings and page views--and it's taken more than fake photos, the incendiary stumbles of Geraldo Rivera and Spike Lee and verbal clashes between Piers Morgan and Toure to shine a light on them.

Here are three recent, troubling examples:

1. After ABC News aired surveillance video of George Zimmerman, Martin's shooter, entering a police precinct without any apparent injuries, the Daily Caller treated the tape like a Zapruder film, enhancing still images from the video and concluding that it found "what may be an injury to the back of his head." The site's photo "analysis" of the back of Zimmerman's head--replete with yellow Photoshopped arrows--"indicates what appears to be a vertical laceration or scar several inches long."

Keep in mind, this is the same Daily Caller that published 152 pages of what the conservative site claims were Martin's tweets--which, if they were, prove that Martin was a pretty typical high school male, preoccupied with girls, sex and getting out of class early.

2. NBC told the Washington Post that it has launched an internal investigation of the "Today" show's editorial process after its morning show aired an edited conversation between George Zimmerman and a 911 dispatcher recorded moments before the shooting. The investigation came after Fox News and others pointed out that the network spliced two parts of the call together, making it appear as if Zimmerman had said, "This guy looks like he's up to no good. He looks black." In reality, Zimmerman was answering a dispatcher's question:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he's up to no good. Or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy--is he black, white or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black.

3. In an flailing effort to break news in a month-old shooting, CBS News aired an interview with Richard Kurtz, the funeral director who handled Trayvon Martin's burial.

"There were no physical signs like there had been a scuffle," Kurtz declared, which the network said proves Zimmerman's claims of a violent encounter with Martin before the shooting are false. "The hands--I didn't see any knuckles, bruises or what have you, and that is something we would have covered up if it would have been there. He looked perfectly normal to me when he came in and the story just does not make sense that he was in this type of scuffle or fight in anything that we could see."
Except, he said, the gunshot wound.
