Ephesians 4:11, "And he gave some, apostles, and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ."

When reading that scripture, can somebody please help me understand where all of these other titles came from that we use in the body of Christ? For those that have truly been called to these offices, I don't question. Why is everyone now an Arch Bishop, Chief Prophet, Master Prophet, 1st, 2nd & 3rd Presiding Prelates, etc? And then again, who ordained them to be such?

I'm just looking for some biblical, honest (NOT MALICIOUS) feedback! Why is everyone so stuck on titles these days? We are destroyed for lack of knowledge, therefore, I am looking to gain more knowledge on this subject.

Hello I am Elder Ronsae L. Mason, B.A and to tell you the truth Ephesians 4:11, "And he gave some, apostles, and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ."

Those are the scriptural officers of the church of the living God.

now when you strart talking about "1st Jurisdictional Bishop" and Presiding Prelate I can explain that.
Those offices normally exist in the COGIC denomination. They commonly use the title "Superintendant" and presiding prelate.
I do know that "Presiding Prelate" is an office in most denominations or charismatic organizations that is commonly a Pentecostal organization, but it is not a "Clergical" office and/or is not a Ecclesiastical office, however it is position just like having a "chairman of deacon" (in example given) but is absolutely is NOT a clergical office nor is it an Ecclesiastical office

as far as: Master Prophet, and Chief Apostle, and all that stuff **are not are not true scriptural offices i don't know where they get that stuff LoL.
Now as far as, "archBishop" that is commonly used in some (not all) Catholic Churches. but you and I know that the term 'Bishop" is a scriptural office not "archBishop"

Shalom we are servants of the Lord. I heard another minister say Don't let your title take you where your character can't keep you. To God Be The Glory!! It's a blessing when the Lord allows elevation but we must know that it is the Lord and I believe when it is the Lord we will be humble. Again, To God Be The Glory!!!

Too many people are caught up in titles when they should be focussing on imitating the Master who chose to be a servant to His Father and to mankind. The titles are merely to indicate the office in which the person is called to- bishop, prophet, apostle, preacher, teacher, evangelist, pastors but the work is ministry- no matter what the title, to the glory of Godand for the the perfecting of the saints.

Some instances in our community we search for status, purpose, and identity. For many people these titles give them a feeling (be it a false feeling) of accomplishment of achievng status, purpose and identity. Thus the reason many who carry these titiles (NOT ALL AGAIN I SAY NOT ALL) have an arrogance/untouchable posture.

Those who walk in these offices with integrity as they are CALLED are a absolute joy to be around and be mentored by.
