5 facts you need to know about the Second Coming of Christ Jesus

Fact 1: The second coming of Christ Jesus is necessary (Rev. 1:7a)
“Behold He is coming…”
Did you know that one out of every 25 verses of the new testament talks about or refers to the second coming of Christ Jesus.
Here are nine reasons why Christ Jesus must return:

1.) The promises of God require that Jesus return (Gen. 49:10; Num. 23:19; Ps. 2:6-9; Isa. 9:6-7; Jer. 23:5-8).
Those predictions were not fulfilled at Jesus first coming, so He must return to fulfill them.

2.) The promise of Jesus requires His return (Rev. 2:16; 3:11; 22:7,12, 20; John 14:2-3; Luke 19:11-27).

3.) The guarantee of the Holy Spirit requires that Jesus return (John 15:26; 16:13; 14:26; 1 Cor. 1:4-8; Phil. 3:20-21; Col. 3:4; 1 Thess. 2:19; James 5:8; 1 Pet. 1:13; 1 John 3:2)

4.) God’s program for the church demands that Jesus return (Rev. 3:10).
This program is in three stages:
Stage A: Reward at the rapture, Rom. 1410; 1 Cor. 3:12-15; 4:5; 2 Cor. 5:10; Phil. 1:6, 10; 2 Tim. 1:12, 18; 4:8 Rev. 11:18,)

Stage B: The church is the Bride of Christ (Rev. 19:7-9; 2 Cor. 11:2 Eph. 5:22-30).

Stage C: The glorified church, the bride of Christ will return in triumph with Him (Rev. 19:14; 2 Tim. 2:19.)

5.) Christ’s program for the unbelieving nations requires His return. Christ will rule the nations at His second coming because it did not happen at His first coming (Ps. 2; Joel 3:1-2, 9-17; Isa. 11:1-5; Mic. 4:1-8; Zeph. 3:8; Matt. 25:31-46)

6.) God’s program for Israel demands that Christ return. God is not finished with Israel (Rom. 11:1-2; Jer. 33:25-26; 31:35-37)

7.) Christ’s humiliation demands that He return. At His first coming, He was rejected, reviled, abused, and executed as a common criminal. But that cannot be the way the story ends. One day at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow… that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phil. 2:10-11)

8.) The judgment of Satan demands that Christ return. Satan is the temporary ruler of this world (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; 2 Cor. 4:4; Heb. 2:14-15). But Jesus is the rightful ruler (Rev. 5:1) will return to destroy him (Rom. 16:20; 1 John 3:8) and reclaim what is rightfully His.

9.) The expectation of believers’ demands that Christ return. (1 Cor. 15:19; Titus 2:13; 2 Tim. 4:8; John 14:1-3; 1 Thess. 4:18)
