Can someone please show me in the Bible where this is permitted and explain the text?
Truly, I have been inspired by all of the comments and insight that have come from many of you!! I wanted to open a discussion that would stir the hearts and minds of many and I did. I can see that it is man vs woman and should not be. My question still remains,,,about Women Bishops!!!! The Bible does not co-sign this. I really believe we all are hung on titles. Whatever you do,,,do it all in the name of Jesus. I wanted to make some points and say some things, so that it would stir your knowledge up and cause you to proclaim what you believe. I can say,,,I have walked into many churches,,,and without sayiing a word or opening my mouth,,,,how can these men detect, discern, or sense that God has a call on my life. AND,,,WHAT, call is that? Glory be to God,,,you see many of us should make sure that our scripture references that we are using to back up your point,,,is not contextual customed to fit in your box of beliefs. My statement to this was about,,,women Bishops,,,and I for one don't agree with the TITLE,,,but I believe that a woman can teach the Gospel,,,and if the HOOP is naturally in her when she delievers,,,then hoop. Whether you want to call it style,,,whatever,,,,we all have our style. So,,if I come to some of your churches,,,I can get turned off by even the way some you hoop or TEACH. Everyone is voicing their beliefs. This is a very sensitive topic,,,and women we must make sure we are wise virtuous women,,,one thing is for sure,,,we are MASTERs at multitasking. If God,,,called you to Sunday School, Evangelist,Prophet, then you must remain a help at home. Men,,,i believe if your wife works, has to take care of kids,,,and does servant service to her local Ministry,,,it just WONT kill you to assist her at home. This is one statement that needs constant understanding and research. Our prayer should be that the LORD will enlighten and reveal to us his truth,,,NOT YOUR OPINION or CONVINCING. You see,,he that wins a soul is wise. We must make sure we ALL speak wisely. God Bless You All And thanks for the replies and the most of all THE WORD!!

WHY DID YAHSHUA SAY AS LONG AS THERE IS A HEAVEN AND A EARTH THE LAW GOOD???

WHY DID PAUL SAY THE LAW WAS JUST HOLY AND GOOD

ROMAN7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

CURIOUS TO KNOW HOW WE CAN READ THE SCRIPTURE AND NOT KNO THAT WE ARE TO DO WHAT THUS SAITH THE LORD ????

This is how one reviewer of Karen Jo Turjesen's When Women Were Priests answers the speculation about "Bishop Theodora":

Depicted in this mosaic from the 9th century, are four women: the two saints who are patrons of the church (Prudentia or Priscilla, and Praxedes), Mary the God-bearer, and a fourth. This fourth woman has the inscription, “Theodora Episcopa.”

To someone who knows a little Greek and very little Christian ecclesiology, this perhaps would lead them to consider that this means “Bishop Theodora.” But the average layman (or “layperson” if you must) in the Eastern Orthodox Church, is well acquainted with “presvyteras” and “khouriyees”, “diaconissas” and “shamasseys.” These terms, in the Greek and Arabic respectively, are literally translated as “priestess” and “deaconess.” But they do not refer to sacramental office in the life of the Church; only in the sense that a wife shares in the grace and ministry of her husband. For these titles are best translated as “priests wife” and “deacon’s wife.” This is true today in the Eastern Orthodox Church, as it was then.

So if you add to that understanding, taken as it is from a “living tradition,” the knowledge that in the early years, the Church had married bishops. It is pretty evident what conclusion, those not trying to find “female clergy” will draw. Theodora was a beloved wife of a local bishop.

That is only half true. The thought came from the Greek Orthodox Church angle. Interestingly enough, the Eastern Orthodox Church had already severed ties completely from the Bishop of Rome, thus conducting ministry in an entirely different form.

Yes, there were Bishops that were married, but the Roman Catholic Canon Law contradicted itself completely concerning Ministry offices.

I disagree with only one point you made here:

"In fact in the past, I almost don't see the women walking in the same anointing. Yes they are married to the men who carry such an anointing but it is clear some of their wives do not."

The females had the gifts, but culture did not permit such exercise of the gifts.

i dont understand why people are saying you can prophesy but not evangelize or preach all of these are a part of giving Gods Word...different word meaning the same things....they are pretty much synonyms..oh and i agree that women should title themselves as bishops because a woman cannot be the husband of one wife,,,just like some men are not blameless and arent qualified to be called bishops as well...
