WOMEN WEARING PANTS IN CHURCH....

[HOPE - Psalm 43:5]

Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

WOW...the problem with your comment evangelist is I never said there is no 'god" Your JESUS is never mentioned in the OT. My God's name Is YAH that is the name he gave to Moshe (moses) you speak of false God's the problem with that is you worship a man who NEVER SAID TO WORSHIP HIM...Your going by what you were taught...just as i was taught the same mess 

Now i have been through this debate with many of you Christians on here in the past...and it amazes me that you ignore scripture as it the NT overrides the OT and as if anything said by Paul or the other's override what the MOST HIGH YAH has stated...

The fact is that church issue is a spiritual issue but many people have taken it carnal, denominational and tribal. A lot of people who are church leaders are not well taught socialy and sacred. H ow can they know the fact about church? This is one of greatest problem of the church today. Unles I am mistaken, I understand pant in this context as trousers and not as inner wear, you know its not generally known as pant in every region. Trousers is meant for everybody for adequeat covering of the down part of the body. Some are unisex while are not. This is not only pants but also in Tshirts. Nnbody should be forced to use anyone she didnt accept, she have not sinned. If anyone allowed him or herself to be mislead that is because he or she lack knowledge. Yes. I was thinking the same. God gave words for inner wear only. Therefore, the problem with women wearing trousers, pants, etc is not addressed in the Bible. The Scripture people do use to support non-wearing of pants in the OT/NT. I believe is being applied incorrectly. I will go back look at the entire chapter, culture, etc to see how that fits in their OT time and how it applies to 2011.  Thanks.

Here's a question, IN 5000 years of History of the Hebrew people, (the real ones), the Nations around Yisrael changed through all that time...did you at one time see Yisrael change as well? 

 

If you know we are Hebrew Yisraelites, then you have to know that YAH never required his children to "Learn from the gentiles (Nation's).  IN captivity (as we are in know) as i mentioned before there has to be an understanding as to what is required of us even at this time not being in our own land...I know this...Don't think this is a time to do what we want and when the end comes then we will do right...when YHWH"s kingdom is set up...i don't thin pants will be in the equation...

 

We see black men in Hollywood dressing in women's clothes, some of you will laugh all day watching Tyler Perry in a dress, or some other so called black play or movie where some black man is in a dress/gay and always IN CHURCH????  Once you move away from religion and study your roots...your TRUE ROOTS...then LEARNING NOT the nations ways will be that much more appealing then just doing what THE WORLD DOES...YAH has a system...and it's all in our history book...in fact the book holds our history, it holds OUR constitution, our bill of rights etc as the CHILDREN OF YISRAEL!!!

 

To continue to speak about pants is fruitless because the mind needs to change in order to feel the need to change that NO MATTER HOW MANY LOOPHOLES WE CAN FIND....

If YHWH DOES NOT CHANGE, WHO ARE WE TO CHANGE WHAT HE SAID BECAUSE OF A "NEW YEAR?"

I really don't know if it's appropiate or not to wear pants in church, but I have on numerous occassions. At times, I would leave from working at night and go to church with my uniform on. I didn't have time to go home and change, I just wanted to praise, worship, and recieve the word from the Lord.

Whenever, I would attend church on Wed. and Fri. evenings I would wear my blue jeans, t-shirts, or if I had to work earlier that day my uniform.

There was one particular time, I went to church because I hadn't been for a long time and it was in my heart to go and praise God. I wore jeans and a t-shirt because I didn't own any dresses nor skirts at the time so I went as I was. Alot of the members of the congregation looked at me so weird and I began to feel so uncomfortable as I walked to the front of the church to give my tithes and offerings. God still moved!!! The pastor of the church began to preach and he said that "It's not about what a person has on his/her back it's about what's in their hearts." He also stated that God says,"Come as you are."

Here's a good question to ask yourself. If a prostitute came into the house of the Lord wearing a mini-skirt, tanktop, and high heels wanting to recieve His Word, seek His help, and surrender unto Him. Would God turn her away or would He embrace her with His mercy and grace?

No Jesus would not turn away anyone from worship.  He wants us to come as we are.  But when we know better, we should do better.  It's not about the outward appearance, its about the motive of the heart.

Dear in Christ. "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is" Eph 5:15-17. If women putting on pants outside the church is accepted while at the inside unaccepted, that is pure hypocrisy. That means, righteoussness in the church and filthy outside the church. What if Christ comes when you are at the outside wearing your pants? So if it is condemned in the church it will certainly be condemned outrightly and if accepted outside the church it will be outrightly accepted. Put on well and decent skirt or pants which ever may be your choice. Don't insult yourself and even the Spirit of God in you by wearing mini, tightened pants or skirt, t- shirt or blouse to appear before the publick. Child of God redeem the time. Don't be bewildered by distractive argument from hell or those from people who are far basic bible truth and don't want to learn. God bless you.

 You didn't understand what I said!! I said that I have gone to church in decent attire with blue jeans, t-shirt, tennis shoes, or my nursing uniform which are called scrubs. I don't dress provocatively and never have, besides I'm getting too old to dress in an unlady like fashion. However, I was asking what if a woman who came off the streets in an unappropiate attire such as a mini skirt, heels and a tank top, who wanted to begin surrendering unto the Lord. God wouldn't turn her away because of her attire He would embrace her. So my point is, God accepts us as we are and teaches us all how to become righteous like Him. We shouldn't judge or look down on anybody. It's all about the matters of the heart!!!

Did men wear pants in Biblical days?  I thought pants were invented sometime in the 1700's.  I thought that men and women both wore robe like garments in the Bible days. I thought there was a distinguished difference in the robe like garments of men and woman in which a man should not wear a womans robe nor vise versa should a woman wear a mans robe. Men who were warriors wore robes and the armor for war and weapons of war. I ask someone where is the text in the Bible that says a woman could not wear pants.  The scripture that I was given was Deut. 22:5. After reading the scripture I can see wear one would think it translates to the wearing of pants. However, if pants were not wore in that time what was the scripture referring to? I'm not a bible scholar so I am not able to translate the scripture according to Hebrew terms and such as to what certain words mean in the Hebrew.  Is there anyone that could help with the translation of this scripture?

The word you are talking about translates into trousers, THIS Was like boxer underwear today (that even women decided they wanted to wear also) and you are correct they began in the 1700's BUT THEY WERE MADE EVEN THEN FOR MEN only!!!

 

The majority of women in that day till the early 1900's did not wear pants...for many of the reason we DISCORAGE WOMEN to wear pants today...

 

Bottom line is this...if you look like the world, act like the world, and give no concern to what the scripture says then you are of the world...simple..i have watched Christianity move from home grown live right for YAH to wear what YOU want, listen to what YOU want, go where YOU want and say what YOU want...it's gone from a community based nation, to a rebellious pack of wolves and disobedient sheep who have NO accountability....and they don't want it..

 

people say they follow Christ however, they do not keep the sabbath, how is that following christ? you can't show one scripture that says ...

 

Sunday is Sabbath

Christ is savior

Wear what you want

The Most High can do ANYTHING HE WANTS....
