WOMEN WEARING PANTS IN CHURCH....

[HOPE - Psalm 43:5]

Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

Hello Sister,

In the Biblical days of Moses and Jesus, no one wore pants. The attire that was worn by both men and women was similar to a gown, cloak, or robe. As a matter of fact, pants were not invented until 1700-1812 in which men begin wearing what was known as trousers (pantalooms). However, pants were made for women (20^th century) also in which pants were cut differently for women because the body of a female is formed differently than the body of a man. The scripture that is taken out of context to support women not being able to wear pans is Deuteronomy 22:5 “A woman shall not wear man's clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman's clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God. “ If a woman wears pants that were made for a woman, she is not out of the will of God if she wears pants to church. However, a woman should not wear pants to church that are a deterrent or distraction such as very tight. I hope this answers your question. I have not found a scripture in the Bible to support women not being able to wear pants to church!!!

if you go to research you will know what that place is talking about,do you know that their is a reason why Bible saidsome thing like that, if you are a bible student you supose to know it that in the old testament that any woman in mesrassion or that give birth to a child newly can not enter in the church untill their child reach to months before they will come to church so because they are wearing the same cloth so the men will come to church with their wives clothwithout knowing that the cloth he wear is his wifes cloth and it begin to cause problem among them so they put that law that no man should wear any cloth parterning to woman cloth,and no woman should wear mens cloth. so my beloved thats what happen that is not in new testament  we are in new dispecsession not in old am not in suport of woman wearing trozer and men opening their ear is not good is sin.

We should not act in a manner that causes our brother or sister to stumble.  Most women wear pants that are too tight pronouncing their physique causing emotional inbalance in some men.  Such a situation is not conducive in a  holy place. Please be our brother keepers.

This subject is getting old. If we put as much effort towards the LORD JESUS, there would only be a handful of lost people out there. Thank God we are not under the old law any more. Just because your a plumber, electrician, etc, doesn't mean your an expert in that field. In this business if one claims to know it all or is an expert, I suggest you flee from them.

Hope, I have been fighting for years this myth about christian dressing, yes myth. Our clothing must be our character not our clothing. I will also say no has the authority to decide which clothing is holy and which is not. I tried to educate  a denomination and it cost me my ministry...there was a falling away by many members. My conviction remains the same.

My sister the scripture that I feels supports those of us that choose not to wear pants is Deuteronomy 22:5. I did a little research on men's attire back then and yes they wore a robe like garment as outer wear(ephrod) but they also had a garment underneath like short pants about mid-calf length some longer depending on their profession but women did not have those trousers as part of their wardrobe because they were for men only. That's why women had to ride the donkeys sideways and men could straddle the beast. Please take this information in love and God Bless You.

WELL I AM IN A HOLINESS CHURCH AND WE AREN'T ALLOWED TO WEAR PANTS BUT I FOUGHT THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS AND I ASKED THE LEADERS TO SHOW ME IN WORD WHERE WE OUGHT TO NOT WEAR THEM NO ONE CLAIM TO HAVE THE WORD LOL SO THE LORD TOLD ME TO TELL THE,M THEY ARE IN A FORM OF TRADITIONS ND RELIGION LOL AND I HAVE U TO KNOW THEY HAVE EMBRACE THE CHANGE AND I TELL U GOD HAS BLESS

We are given Ten Commandments to live by from God.  No more, no less.  Anything more or less is man adding to and taking away from God's word.  This is church culture that is being taught {at some churches} as the biblical word of God. God looks into our hearts, not at our outfits and that is biblical.  The Word does say we as children of the Most High God are not to offend our weaker brethren who do not enjoy the freedom of the truth in this area.  If they don't eat meat, we should not eat meat when eating with them.  If they will receive you in a dress better than in slacks WEAR the dress.  It is an issue of saving souls and they are worth a million and more dresses.  The men actually have it worse than us, they have to sit in churches with three piece stiff suits on sweating and uncomfortable all the time.  The truth will set you free, but many choose to stay in bondage, weighed down, spiritually stagnant, and will fight a higher truth.  You must do what you are convicted in your spirit to do and not do.
