WOMEN WEARING PANTS IN CHURCH....

[HOPE - Psalm 43:5]

Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

This seems to be a bigger issue in "Black Churches" why is that?

I see other races of people entering the House of worship with regular everyday clothes on....and having an awesome worship experience.
It is called "Sunday morning Worship right?
A time we come together to worship God.
Dresses, pants.....I wonder what Mose had own when he worshiped God & when got showed him the burning bush! I wonder what the woman got in the act of adultery had own, when Jesus forgave her. Better yet can some tell me when dresses and pants were invited?
We waste time with pity debates, when their are people like Mary Magelene that need to be save and set free. Lord forgive us.

dear Sister When we mention the term church it is so loosely opinionated Like all churches are the same..They are not unfortunately but they should be modeled out of the bible so when we look for the answers First our relationship and love for God and to know him as an obedient child in HIS WORD must be in prayer. For the Woman's Bathroom there is a picture of a woman hanging on the door. How do you know the difference between a Man and a Woman's bathroom? The Skirt separates the woman From a Man.
Another Thing if you study history before woman's Libb when pants were promoted on a women (Woman's Rights)
The Women Looked Wholesome and wore long skirts and shirts that were Modest. Today The devil and TODAY'S FASHIONS are the farthest thing from what God Has Called us to be!! Skirts were originally intended to be worn by women. Pants for men. But The world and it's fashions Don't Care They are in it for the flesh! (PROFIT,SEX,AND PRIDE)
But Anyway this is just food for thought. I too was questioning pants and the Lord and His Grace Revealed to me to leave the world behind and walk closer to Him. So I do encourage you to pray about this. Ok, So here it is. After this It's between You and The Lord.

I believe sometimes our responses to issues we havent consulted with God about...are out of tradition. We know that Jesus and those of his time wore robes..not pants..therefore if women shouldnt wear pants neither should men? I mean some things we say are not well thought out...I'm learning to speak on those things as they are revealed to me by the Spirit and those things that arent I leave them alone or I explain it as my opinion. I think we would get a long alot better as Servants of God if we take this approach more often...I would rather keep the peace than bring confusion over a matter that wont get you in or keep you out of heaven.

If we study church history this is the reason why the church split in so many directions. Each had their own definitions of what they thought was holinest. Someone said "women won’t and never will be equal to man in the tone of order. God, Christ, Man, and then the Woman, it’s the Word of God." Order has nothing to do with equallity. For the sake of order, God has given women a submissive position so that order is maintained. But never was the man suppose to take on the mentality that she isn't equal. For we are to submit one to another. The woman equally has something valuable to offer not only her husband and family but also the Kingdom of God. Men who possess the paridigm that their wives are not equal tend to misuse their wives. Misuse is not a dirty word. Just like ignorance isn;t. If you dont view your wife as an equal you will disqualify her and discount her purpose in your life and you will not fully benefit from her purpose. This order God, Christ, man, and then women refers to the family unit to appropriate unity. Without this set structure their would be two visions or division.

Now back to the subject, forgive me for the rabbit trail, The bible doesn;t speak about pants. But it does speak about men clothing. Some people veiw pants as men clothing. I think it is error for anyone to make a doctrine out of one piece of clothing pants in mind as being men's clothing. The point the writer was making is: It's wrong to not be able to distinguish a woman from a man from the way she dressess. The bible says that there is nothing new under the sun. The writer knew there was something inherently wrong, spiritually wrong when women look like men by how they dress. You can see it very evidently today. Some call them dikes, butch, the masculine role in the lesbian relationship. It could also go the other way, men dressing like women. Nonetheless, sometimes people dress "holy" to appease other people. The bible also says, be happy in the thing which you allow. Of course this is no excuse to dress what is obviously unholy, but we have to stop putting people into bondage and stop letting people put us into bondage over things that God is just not concerned with. Now if God tells you to not wear pants, or make up or whatever, I can't say that you haven't heard from God. If God tells you this then for you to do it anyway would be sin for you. But don't make your convictions someone elses and condem them for what God told you to do especially if it is not a written instruction in the bible. Paul after Jesus death burial and ressurection did not have to keep some of the Jewish customs that he kept but he did because he didnt want to offend the people he was called to minister to, to make his witness ineffective. This is why he said he became all things to all people.

I've got this great way to apply Romans 14:14-21. I replace "meat and drink" with whatever is being debated in the body of Christ today, and come away with something like the following:
