I have been planting churches since 93' from California, Louisiana to Mississippi. I was the first African American to earn a Doctorate of Theology Degree from an ABA seminary in the southern states and second nationwide. I became the first African American chancellor of a ABA seminary which now is assisting great men and women earn legitimate degrees to enhance their teaching ministries. Our seminary specializes in producing scholars of the Word through equipping students in translating Greek, Hebrew, Arabic and Aramaic alone with offering other seminary courses. I became sick of degree mills, which sell paper, but not the knowledge to compliment the title. This is a disgrace to the prophetic calling and make such calling appears to be a joke. I put together an online seminary that from day one; people will recognize your skills in rightly dividing the Word of God. As a result you will discover the true power of God's Word unto salvation. Thats why Apostle Paul said, for I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the Power of God unto Salvation. Contact me for a free catalogue:charlesjosh7@comcast.net

I am always being asked to grade Obama’s presidency. In place of offering him a grade, I put together a list of his accomplishments thus far. I think you would agree that it is very impressive. His first six months have been even more active than FDRs or LBJs the two standards for such assessments. Yet, there is little media attention given to much of what he has done.

Of late, the media is focusing almost exclusively on Obama’s critics, without holding them responsible for the uncivil, unconstructive tone of their disagreements or without holding the previous administration responsible for getting us in such a deep hole. The misinformation and venom that now passes for political reporting and civic debate is beyond description.

As such, there is a need to set the record straight. What most impresses me is the fact that Obama has accomplished so much not from a heavy-handed or top-down approach but from a style that has institutionalized efforts to reach across the aisle, encourage vigorous debate, and utilize town halls and panels of experts in the policy-making process.

Beyond the accomplishments, the process is good for democracy and our democratic processes have been battered and bruised in recent years.

Let me know if I missed anything in the list (surely I did).

Dont forget just by stating his philosophy of governing during his campaign and by demonstrating his respect for other nations, the Geneva Convention, and his willingness to talk to non-allies since coming into office, he has changed most of the world’s view of AMerica for the better. I was so embarrassed before. Now I feel good again about being an American.

Impressive list! I would add the tremendous pro-worker initiatives as well. From extending unemployment benefits to appointing for the first time in a loooong time a pro-worker and pro-union Labor Secretary who is reorganizing that department to be on the people’s side. That includes wage/hour inspectors, safety and health regulations, women’s department, etc. These are really important starts to improving working families lives on the job and in the communities.

Impressive list. The man does deserve a standing ovation for what he has accomplished so far. The media has definitely ignored these small and significant achievements for more story generators. He is truly looked upon as the leader of the free world… Applause!

What a pathetic list. A lot of these so called accomplishment can only be called that in face of W Bush setting the bar set so low. There is no REAL CHANGE here. And we need to stop making excuses for him. When confronted with what can at best be described as Obama’s pusillanimity I keep hearing excuses for him. I’ve heard everything from they are holding his kids hostages, there is provably a secret sex tape somewhere and even that he’s faking right and will go left later. All of them mental masturbations. I say to that: Who cares? He will not deliver the change he promised. I campaigned and spent a lot of money from my meager resources to get him elected and now I feel betrayed. Just this week two reports came out although you won’t see them talked about much in corporate media. One states that Wall Street lead by Goldman & Sachs will have a record profit making year and the privately owned Federal Reserve’s assets have more than doubled. Meantime a Dept. of Agriculture report states that 1 in 6 Americans have struggled to get food. Something to be divulged and mentally chewed for sure. In the end no matter how bad it gets we cannot despair and give into the system. We need to somehow get a second wind and start by exposing the false prophet Obama, Clinton and the rest of these republican lite politicians that pretend to represent us. Only very low standards and purposely ignoring what main street is going thru could generate satisfaction with what he has “accomplished”. Loosing faith on him is too painful and scary for you and you can’t face the reality that Obama is nothing more that a humongous hoodwink by Goldman & Sachs on all of us that have been fighting for progressive change. Obama is the “good cop” and the republican tea baggers are the “bad cops” and progressives are the perps being conned by the ruling elite. But oh well, ignorance is blitz. In the mean time I will start work on Obama’s failures and disappointments so we wake our asses up.

Thank you for sharing the list. I am proud of Obama. He has done remarkable amount of work in a few months, I can see why the World likes him and respects him. Since he has been in office, the image of USA has improved in the world. Don’t let the hatefull people hurt you, they dont care about the coountry…they just care about their political party and are fixated in some delusional paranoia. I hope and wish Obama well.

Good list even if somewhat inflated, padded, and still in the works.

As a damn solid supporter, I would have ranked them differently just to get some the more important ones to the top. I would have used the phrase “Has began’ more often.

But what a refreshing change form all the hate-filled, racist, bigoted, and outright false screeds from the foxholes, dittoheads, and teabaggers.

Did anyone fact-check this in reverse? I scarcely accept as an accomplishment “Renewed loan guarantees for Israel.” Hasn’t every U.S. president done so?

One might as well add “Has sat in the Oval Office” for number 91.

A list of UNIQUE accomplishments, rather than following trend lines (”Better body armor”)–I’d bet more and better armor was supplied to the troops by Bush than Clinton–would be much more useful in judging Obama’s short record in office.

I don’t know how this can be called a list of accomplishment’s when non of these have been seen to fruition, except the FDA taxing the crap out of tobacco products, all of these “accomplishments” have or will cost our nation dearly. Obama’s answer to our nations biggest struggles are to throw money at them until the haemorrhaging stops (Chrysler, AIG, etc) as to date that has not happened..please wake up America and smell the doo-doo that the Obama admin is spreading.

Well finally some great positive news, I am so sick of the President bashing in the US and the media that I live Internationally most of the time now.
Obama’s machine needs to hire a team of 12 year olds to get this information out to the masses!
I will certainly keep it handy fire it back as rebutal to the negative citizens of th US!

Let’s keep it real… The author of this is a registered Democrat, has run for office as a Democrat, and has been a liberal activist. His assessment of President Obama sounds more like stumping than an unbiased review. He talks about venom from the other side as though Democrats speaking of Republicans are kinder and gentler… In the same breath they can say the right is attacking their leader without basis, while explaining that the right’s leaders are responsible for every bad thing that has ever happened. I view all such campaign material from either side as something that must be scrutinized, not supported blindly when it supports your current view (regardless of factual content) or blindly opposed when it doesn’t (despite merit that could be found if you wanted to look). The first tip-offs that I must really look hard at this author’s information is that he is writing to “friends” and he asks us to list things he may have missed… Certainly I could add 100 more things to this list, which might apply to the work of any president, but none would have any bearing on a sincere debate of whether President Obama is good or bad for our country. I’m really tired of seeing one side or the other putting out facts to those who already agree with them for a rah rah vote of support… Debate is what should be occurring, and an acknowledgement that with either side, there is good and bad, and major screw-ups along the way. The party system is a waste of time… We should simply fund campaigns, which would involve pre-qualified candidates’ government-produced questionnaires/interviews being made public. Rhetoric from either side really tells us nothing and merely reinforces the opinions that we all hold. The below is another example of someone with an agenda, making a biased list of things that support their view, whether they are entirely accurate or not (some may be, others not). Many of the things listed below involve little effort and could all be accomplished by staff in a minimal amount of time. For example, 1 and 2 could be a single letter to agency heads, which is most likely standard with each president, simply telling them to review their operations and report back. In fact, most of these items would simply be letters/directives, telling agencies to do something, and could be accomplished by staff within the same week. I am obviously being very critical of the information provided below, but that does not mean I believe that President Obama is doing a bad job… I think he is doing many things (some I like, some I hate) and it is a President’s job to lead, not shovel sand in the trenches, but I’m just getting tired of the political rhetoric… What’s next? A list of 10,000 accomplishments, followed by a list from the other side of 10,000 misdeeds?

Posted by Edwin Mercado | January 11, 2010, 6:54 am

Interesting list…some is bad accomplishments and the some items arent accomplishments they are intentions, Intentions arent accomplishments and adding things like “got the ball rolling” as an accomplishment is kind of pathetic really.
Allowing the media to cover the returning bodies of fallen soldiers is something the families do not want. I wouldnt be claiming that as a good thing
Iraq withdrawl was put into place on December 31, 2008 By Obamas Predecessor. Obama has not changed any policy on Iraq since taking office. If you listen to what he says about Iraq troop withdrawl you will hear him mention the “SOFA” agreement between the USA and Iraq. He had nothing to do with the SOFA agreement.
There never was “No Bid Contracts” that has been proven a lie since the new england senator who coined the phrase was shown that Haliburton works under a 5 year super contract called LOGCAP which is for support services for our military in the event of major military operations. It was awarded to Haliburton in 1996 under the Clinton Admininstration and renewed in 2001 under the Bush administration and again in 2006. It will be interesting to see who gets the contract in 2011.

While there are valid claims of accomplishments here Most of this stuff is fiction or intentionally misleading.

I could counter a lot of the posts in response to this list. But I will just address the one about overting a global depression. Obama keeps saying they brought us back from the brink. The Markets were in freefall his first 6 weeks due to the spending policies he and the party had been announcing. Look at two dates, March 9th and March 10, 2009. March 10 the markets started rallying big, the day before, March 9, 2009 Citibank reported profits in January and February after they recieved TARP funds in November. That was the first sign things werent as bad as they had believed before that. Anyone who supports this spending would be hard pressed to give an explaination as to what obama has done that has helped the economy. Not talking points but data to support that claim. government growth is all he has focused on, you cannot recover an economy on government spending alone. it requires the private sector to recover but obama is now attacking the banks which paid back TARP with the interest they agreed to when they received the money in 2008. BTW, in March 2009 Obama changed the terms for TARP with AIG, (a large democratics party supporter) and removed the requirement for them to pay interest. Gietner’s treasury announced they would lose 61 billion on AIG and Auto bailouts. in the same report they claimed there would be 19 billion in interest paid from the TARP agreements Bush signed to offset their losses…
With the AIG thing and the fact they tried to impose a tax on so called cadillac insuranbce plans but allowed the unions who support hima nd have regular visits to the white house to be exempt…doesnt anyone think thses things are just a little questionable?

HERE IS SOMETHING ON NO-BID CONTRACTS: The Obama administration this Month awarded a $25 million federal contract for work in Afghanistan to a company owned by a Democratic campaign contributor without entertaining competitive bids. The contract, awarded on Jan. 4 to Checchi & Company Consulting, Inc., a Washington-based firm owned by economist and Democratic donor Vincent V. Checchi, will pay the firm $24,673,427 to provide rule of law stabilization services in war-torn Afghanistan.

Lets review the JOBS they are claiming were “created” or “saved”

I have never before seen a president say they would save jobs and actually try to count them as some form of achievment. Obama created a website for 18 million dollars to track jobs which was completely ineffective and wrong about the numbers. the site counted jobs in congressional district in several states that did not exist. He sent three different people to three different Sunday talk shows and each one of them gives a different number of jobs created..from “thousands and thousands” (Valerie Jarred)to “1.5 million” (Gibbs)to “2 million” (axelrod)
so using obamas standards we can say Bush created half a million jobs in 2008 in the healthcare industry alone, because healthcare kept adding jobs….see how pathetic this is.

the Jobs numbers for president are “NET” jobs, not trying to pick where someone hired and not count where others laid off. How can anyone not be offended by this?
In any economy there are companies hiring and some laying off. you will always be able to find where people were hired, even during the depression companies hired when they had openings but more jobs were being cut.

Unbelievable! I think Obama and his advisors got away with saying so many things without question they think they can just say whatever they want and everyone would believe it for the next four years. Kennedy’s seat going to the GOP is a huge wake up call.

All of that pales in the wake of the Health “care” bill. We will continue to use American tax dollars to pay for those who have not contributed any, American or NOT!! A fee if you can’t afford insurance, how the hell do you afford that???
