I think we have a lot of misinformation going around or a lot of the sisters do not know what is available to them in the legal system. Talk to some public defenders, they can give you options, your local police department can too. Many of these women that are abused and neglected have children. REMEMBER: a child saved, is a soul saved, plus a life. we must educate ourselves and our loved ones to the tools available to us. I have much more information, if you would like help agencies, etc.  Try to handle everything in a Godly fashion. But, if he chooses to act worldy-then let the world and its authorities that are in place deal with him.God Bless!!!
