Let's pull the brothers together!
College at American Baptist was a great experience.
Imagine a school with 200 young black preachers learning, laughing, and growing together.
Listen to the echos of whooping down the seemingly perfect acoustics of the second floor of Griggs hall.
Experience the splash of a freshman "Baptism".
Jump into the thick of a heated debate over women in ministry or speaking in tongues or whatever the topic is for the day.
Take in the aroma of old books in the library or hear the whispers from alumni photos lining the chapel walls.
Tag along closely to your pastor who sent you while he fraternizes with other big preachers at the Garnett-Nabrit Lectures.
Exchange old stories from "The Holy Hill" passed down from generation to generation.
Travel with other "young guns" for ABC day in cities across the continental US.... and beyond.
Meet students from Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Africa and share culture and cuisine.
Discover new friends, new rivalries, AND new nicknames.
If I were to talk to a prospective student to American Baptist, I would encourage him to look forward to a challenging but exciting experience. I would wish that he could be a student while my father was there, or while I was there... but I know that the story is not finished. New chapters are being written every year. And I look forward to hearing some of those stories - past, present, and future - right here on the Black Preaching Network.
