Let's pull the brothers together!

College at American Baptist was a great experience.

Imagine a school with 200 young black preachers learning, laughing, and growing together.

Listen to the echos of whooping down the seemingly perfect acoustics of the second floor of Griggs hall.

Experience the splash of a freshman "Baptism".

Jump into the thick of a heated debate over women in ministry or speaking in tongues or whatever the topic is for the day.

Take in the aroma of old books in the library or hear the whispers from alumni photos lining the chapel walls.

Tag along closely to your pastor who sent you while he fraternizes with other big preachers at the Garnett-Nabrit Lectures.

Exchange old stories from "The Holy Hill" passed down from generation to generation.

Travel with other "young guns" for ABC day in cities across the continental US.... and beyond.

Meet students from Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Africa and share culture and cuisine.

Discover new friends, new rivalries, AND new nicknames.

If I were to talk to a prospective student to American Baptist, I would encourage him to look forward to a challenging but exciting experience. I would wish that he could be a student while my father was there, or while I was there... but I know that the story is not finished. New chapters are being written every year. And I look forward to hearing some of those stories - past, present, and future - right here on the Black Preaching Network.

i say also thank you for your answer as my friends, may God keeps on increasing you in His amasing love.

i would like to share with you also how God changed my life and see how bad the devil had conquered my life.

this is my testimony!
As you know my name is samuel manirakiza,i am from Burundi
i was born in1988 the date of 26/10 and raised in christian familly.
i am the eldest in nine children my God has given my parents.
My father was Pastor in Anglican church as he is now and my mother was a singer in the women's choir the same how she is  now.
Neverthless,in my growth,i began to commit sins like drinking alcool, smoking cigarrate, stealing money from the house, being a talktive person in my classmates, being trouble some among the teachers.
Every day my father came to school because of my accusations from the errors i comitted.
And thereafter, when i was sixteen i began to meditate and thinking how i can give up all such sins and i ask the Lord to make me understand his ways of percepts so that i can meditate his wonderful works and i give my life to GOD.
now at church i am a singer;i play musical instruments.
the Bible says in1JOHN 1:8 that if we claim to be without sin,we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.if we confess our sins,he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrightiousness.
unless the Lord had given me help i would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.but the Lord has become my fortress, and my GOD the rock in whom i take refuge.
thanks for thinking about me!
be blessed again!

Bishop Donald Hilliard of Cathedral International in Perth Amboy, New Jersey has written a book for all male ministers approaching or going through midlife, entitled, Midlife, Manhood, & Ministry. The book is published by Judson Press. This topic of how midlife crises is affecting men in ministry and especially senior pastors has never before been seriously discussed in the African American church. It is available for pre-order at www.judsonpress.com. Bishop Hilliard is available to provide workshops and speak on this important subject that has been kept hidden for too long. He also describes his own journey through midlife and gives examples of how men in the Bible handled their issues.  Midlife%20press%20release%20brief%205.docx

The objective of this book is to help Christians present the Good News about Jesus Christ with their personal testimony. Since every Christian has been born again he has experiential knowledge about a spiritual reality, namely conversion. He has been transformed into a new creature. These things are real. These events actually occurred. Therefore, even if the person who has experienced these things doesn't understand them, he can still tell people what happened.
