The True Day Of Worship.... You Be The Judge !

The Sabbath, and the Lord’s Day are today the two main days Christians and the Jewish people worship God. On the Christian side, many argue that we should all worship on the original Sabbath day (Saturday), while others state, that since such day of worship was changed sometime in the first century A.D. to the Lord’s Day that we should in fact follow, and worship in it. There are many disagreements on who initiated such a drastic change. Many claim it was the Pope himself, while others say it was the church body itself and that the first Pope was not instated until almost 500 years after it began. Either way the fact is that it was indeed changed. Now the question is, what is the correct day of worship, or does it matter?

 Let us start with Exodus 31-12:13: Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. And then in verse 16 it reads wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. Please note here that it reads “perpetual” meaning forever. Many hold to the claim that this was a covenant all in itself, outside of the Ten Commandments. It is said that the true children of Israel are in fact those who will honor this holy day and keep it .For as it states in the above scripture: “it is a sign between me and you”. Sabbath keepers claim that we are to still follow this Holy day due to its forever covenant and that it was God himself that declared it. Jesus himself followed the Sabbath as we see in Luke 4: 16. It reads He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. Many other Churches today however make the claim that since the resurrection of Christ we are no longer bound by any laws formerly given in the Old Testament, and that it is not required of us to follow such day anymore.

 A majority of Christian churches today have accepted and worship on Sunday, the first day of the week. Many Christians hold to scriptures such as Romans 14:5-6 one man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He, who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He, who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. The claim is made that this scripture tells us that it depends on the spiritual maturity of the individual to whether or not it is right or wrong. That because we live by the spirit and not the law, to have to follow this covenant is not relative to the Christian walk today. Basically meaning if a person believes it to be a sin, then it is. Whether this scripture truly relates to our day of worship, or special holidays, or even the clean or unclean foods that we eat is question to think upon. Today let each man or woman contemplate on if this topic has merit. Should we in fact follow the Biblical Sabbath, or is our normal Sunday worship satisfactory with the father? Did man have the right to change this day? You be the judge.

It is amazing how far we have gotten away from God's original intent.

The Sabbath was made for man, not for God, it was a day of rest, it was
only after captivity that the Jews made the sabbath more than what it was.
The Sabbath was never designed as a time when you would go to church,
rather it was to rest.

Worship is not a 'service' nor is it singing 'specially slow' songs. The word
worship in the Old English word for worship was obeisance. It is connected
to obedience.

The word worship in Greek is to 'fall prostrate' before the king, there you
would remain until the king told you to 'arise' and in saying arise, there would
be a commission attached, 'arise, go do'. Often in scripture it is arise & fear not.
It is in the prostrating, waiting for the arise go do, and obeying the commission of
the king.

Everyday is to be 'The day of worship' not just going to 'church'. In fact our 'going to church'
means nothing to Him, if we are Not walking in obedience to Him. We can sing all we
like, we can sing slow songs that make us feel good, we can go around speaking in tongues,
shouting hallelujah, amen,but if we are not walking in obedience, we are NOT worshiping Him at all.

Jesus said: The Father seeketh those who will worship Him in Spirit & in Truth.
Meaning that one truthfully obeys the prompting of the voice of the Spirit, not
walking to the dictates of the law on stone.
