Prophetess Roberts, you are so right. The walls of the family have been torn down by the enemy. The devil frowns at a happy couple in one accord. Just as he exploited the first marriage in the Garden of Eden, so will he try to exploit present day marriages. “But we are not ignorant of his devices.” He is attacking marriages because the family is the foundation or the core of the church and the community. The church and the community are a reflection of the family. Break the family and it will have a ripple effect on the church and community. Heal the family and watch revival sweep across the church and community.
Clearly, there is a lot of power struggle between men and women because they do not have strong moral and biblical convictions to referee their choices. The word of God “checks and balances our behavior. Where there are no moral and spiritual boundaries, anything goes, people have no restraints. They define truth as lie, and call lie, truth! .
There are many reasons marriages fall apart: Lack of preparation, ignorance of God’s purpose of marriage, wrong or shallow spiritual foundation, not counting the cost for a relationship, abuse of marital roles, misconceptions, no fear of God, selfishness, unrenewed mind, too many options, fear to love unconditionally, sacrificially, and so many other reasons. We all desire a great marriage but without the labor!
But God wants to heal and restore marriages. If we are going to rebuild the broken walls of the family, we need to fight back with repentance, truth, prayer, unconditional love, a renewed mind, the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, the sword of the Spirit, forgiveness, commitment, and other spiritual weapons.
I understand why you are a little bit apprehensive about getting married.
But do not be discouraged or intimidated by the alarming rate of divorce. Marriage by it self does not fail. It is people in marriages that fail. Marriage is what we make it. We can either make it a bed of thorns or a bed of roses. It depends on how much we are willing to sacrifice and invest in the relationship. Also, part of what makes a marriage work is marrying a God-fearing partner that is willing to do whatever is necessary to grow the relationship.
If you desire to be married, it is probably because God wants you to. He has the right husband for you that will compliment your calling. Ask Him to divinely connect you with the man He has chosen for you before the foundation of the world. Then position yourself to discern and receive that mate when you meet him. Please, my Sister, do not allow fear to hold you back from encountering the exhilarating and liberating experience of falling in love. Someday, you will have to take the risk to love like Jesus did and trust Him as your safety net and protection. Discern by the Spirit of God who is real or fake.
Marriage is beautiful, fun, and fulfilling – if only we allow our relationships to be Christ-centered, not self-centered, purpose-driven, not self –driven, and fruit-bearing, not dry or barren. For our marriages to be loving and long lasting, we must use it to glorify God and advocate His will.
Stay blessed !!! – Evangelist Bridget Bazunu.

Thank God for this network because I have lots of questions concerning many issues. I am a great listener and I love to hear what others have to say concerning all issues in life.

I have many questions and my first question is why are married couples having so many problems? I desire to be married but it seems as if married couples are at war with each other. Marriag scares me, I have been single for 16 years and doing just find on my own but I desire a mate. It's very scary out there in this day and time trying to date. What do you think Evangelist Bazunu is it just me or is somthing going wrong between men and women? Why can't men and women get alone today? Why so many failed marriages and broken homes today?
