One problem with man’s denominational teaching is that HOLINESS in many churches and groups means stay away from them sinners! The only way sinners can see Jesus Christ is through the Church (The Body of Christ). The local church is a part of the larger body of blood washed believers. Sinners can only see the light of Jesus Christ through US. Now I am not saying Christians should go to bars and nightclubs…BUT we do have to interact with sinners! Jesus went to places where people congregate. I remember many of my fellow preachers telling saints they shouldn’t go to bowling alleys, teens shouldn’t play sports, and saints don’t go swimming! These are in some people’s minds what “holiness” is all about! True holiness means we are set apart for God’s use and purposes. God’s highest purpose is that we influence people to accept Christ! I don’t think you can do that locked up in your church 7 days a week with black suits, long skirts, and doilies on your head! I used to witness on the streets of Song Tan City in Korea, there were nothing but bars, nightclubs, and whorehouses in this sin filled town. Many professed “Spirit-filled” Christians would warn me about going downtown. They would tell me it was dangerous and that there was too much temptation there. I believe the awesome power of the Holy Ghost is MORE than enough to protect us while we minister to sinners! I have led prostitutes, Moslems, drug addicts, and drunks to Jesus Christ in some pretty dangerous places. The Holy Spirit was given to us to insulate us from the World, much like an astronaut’s suit protects him on the Moon.

You know holiness is having the light of God shining through us. When we are truly abiding in Christ and embedded in His word we become connected to God, once connected His light shines all around us that’s is why we really don’t have to tell anyone we are a Christian they will be able to see it.

Now when we became born again the Holy Spirit the comforter enters us, and if we pay attention he will lead us in all our ways, path and direction. I can’t speak for anyone else but if the Holy Spirit has a job for me you better believe I will have to do it or pay the consequence.

So what I am saying is since accepting Christ my path has been directed to where the Lord has someone for me to witness to, I will give example one day I was on the bus and I was going to church and a old man quite senior and past retirement age got on the bus. He had been drinking and was overly excited talking way above the normal level. Anyway he came to where I was sitting and sat next to me. I unfortunately wish the floor would open up, I wished he would move anything as long as he was not beside me.

Everyone on the bus you could see sighing with relief that he did not sit near them. The man said hello to me and was set for a conversation. I said hello and turn away closed my eyes wish he got the hint.

The Holy Spirit decided 1) He did not like my attitude 2) He had a job for me to do. So he start to burn one of my ears, and I am there thinking what on earth the Holy spirit want me to do on a bus so I tried to ignore the ears he start on the other ear all the while I am thinking no way he cant want me to talk to this loud mouth drunken man, anyway by now it was like The Holy Spirit was ready to fry my ears and me I am ready to cry out in pain. So I turn to the man and ask him how he was he quietly told me how he was going to the shop to get medicine for his sister who was poorly and how he has to look after her. It turns out this poor lonely man in his eighties was struggling to look after himself and travelling everyday about 5 miles to look after his sister. He ask me where I was going I said to church, he said that was nice and quoted something from the Bible he had remember probable from Sunday school when he was small and was in own country. I ask him if he attended church. He said he wish he did but didn’t really know any and he felt awkward just to walk in one.

I gave him our church card with the address and invited him to church. The man was over the moon. I nearly missed the opportunity to help someone but because I had the Holy Spirit there to direct me the job was done. I forgot to mention the minute I started to speak to the man The Holy Spirit left my ears alone. Ever since I got save this is some of the way that I am directed to people I have no choice but to witness to and each time it would appear that it was someone who needed comfort, influence, at a cross road, don’t know where to turn. One occasion it was a mother and her 2 children that He led me to where they were terrified of their own shadow having been through the most terrifying ordeal of being kept prisoner in their own home for years and lock in a basement with the threat of dynamite being drop if they don’t keep quiet. The man got 20years in jail but the family was still a mess needed prayers they told me the mother and daughters they were kept in separate rooms in there ordeal and when night came the only thing they could do was beg God to let the other be alive in the morning just to let them be able to hear each others voice. That was how they survive every morning they would whisper out to see if each other was alive then they thank God for guiding them.

The point I am making is God has a job for each of His children and the people you are talking about that may not be the job the Holy Spirit has assign for them if it was there is no way there would be able to get out of it.

If they are abiding in Christ whatever their duty are they will have no choice but to do it. Ever since Christ call me He has taken control of my life there is so much more people he has led me to each time I am left without any doubt that the hand of God is at play. All we need to do sometime is be still and hear the Lord speaking giving us our instruction

Brother I believe when we become a child of God the Holy Spirit takes control and just as it would be dangerous for me to ignore His command it would equally have been dangerous for me to do something He has not command me to do. You don’t know what the people in the Church have been assigned to do you should really be concern of what you have been assigned to do
