If you hand a tract to a man that hasn’t eaten in over 24 hours without a sandwich, chances are you won’t reach that man for Jesus Christ! Jesus fed the 5,000 not so He could show off and impress people! He realized that sending them away in the middle of nowhere without food could be hazardous to their health. He was not just concerned with them hearing the Word; He was concerned about their well being also. Too many of us go to church in our big cars and SUV’s on full stomachs and sit next to someone whose stomach is empty. God forbid! We are often the miracle someone needs! You may not think you are rich, but $20 to some people might be a miracle! We spend money on newspapers, coffee, and bagels every morning on our way to work, and some people sleep on the morning paper and eat the left over bagel you threw away because it was not toasted to perfection for you! The 12 disciples wanted to send the 5,000 away, so do most churches in America. We call the homeless lazy and say they must “pull themselves up by the bootstraps!” That is Republicanism not Christianity talking! Some people are one missing payday from being homeless. I am disabled and I know from personal experience, only the grace of God keeps some of us from sleeping in the street! Another hard fact is that there are SAVED homeless people! For that matter Jesus was born in a homeless situation! The Bible say’s “When you give to the poor, it is like lending to God.”

Amen Brother you are so right. The Lord has given me this same vision, as long as I can remember I have heard saints of God and there many opinions of what needed to be done in order to win souls to Christ and a million conversations of why people are not joining churches like they use too. Many people blame the world, music, gangs and lots of other stuff but, I remember like it was yesterday, watching my Grandmother and the other Mothers and Sisters of the church, cook huge meals like they were feeding an army big pots of food, and would take the whole pot to what's her name and her kids down the street, sew the kid's clothes, go to the store for Mister neighbor man who's wife died, carry him or her here or there, And the church was booming, people had seen the love of Christ through his Saints and because of it they came to Christ and brought their families, now......one lady told me there was more Aint's than Saint's... I know that's not true, but this is the sentiments of one worldly persons heart. A sinner because she does'nt see the upside in being a Saint... We are obligated to change the minds of man, By living love and not just saying it. I'm zealous of my Grammy and the Mothers of old. Because they sure knew how to win a soul. And keep it won.,
Amen, think of the account of the fish and loaves, Jesus knew those people had a natural hunger as well as a spiritual hunger, taking care of the natural hunger FIRST, open the door to giving them what they hungered for Spiritually.

It is more blessed to give than to receive
Amen. I totally agree that we must meet the people where they are. If they are hungry feed them naturally and you then can minister spiritual food. Many peopl in the streets have had so many people who claim to love Christ come to them with a pamphlet, tract, word from the Lord with balled up fist and closed hearts. Many go intot he vineyard with the minidset that I do have anything to give a drug addict of alcoholic. God did not ask us to place judgment on people He asked us to love them, to help and do good towards people. I have a Street Deliverance Ministry in the City of Los Angeles and people are ni need of hope, in need of the expression of love and we are the vessels that God uses to express this. Meeting the material needs of the homeless, addicts, prostitutes, alcoholics, etc. should be our number one goal in order to compel them to Christ. If we give them money we should not be concerned whether or not they by drugs of alcohol with it, we should be concerned that God has blessed us in ordr to be a blessing to someone else and may be their lifechanging experience to see the love of God through us.
Well Bless God!

I agree with what was said. Remember, man is not just Spirit, we are Soul, Spirit and Flesh, and if the flesh isn't feed it will DIE! The same way if you don't feed your Soul the Word of God, you can die Spiritually and loose, and then loose out on Eternal Life.

THINK ABOUT IT!
