Why is the Word SUBMITT a bad word?

In the church, in our homes and on our jobs submitt is like a curse word to men and women. Why? Because there is an issue with pride, and the ability to humble the heart of man is hard when it is made of stone. Submitting has alot to do with love, how can you submit if ther is no love! You submit to your boss, some would say, but that submission is like what they did in slavery time, you submit because you need money to pay bills, food to eat and shelter. God can provide those things as well but all He asks is for us to want a better life for ourselves in order to get it. So why is it so hard to submitt to God's authority and so easy to submitt to our jobs? I guess we think we can trust our jobs or the companies we work for more than we can trust God? Seems backwards to me! What's your opinion?
