Ministry of Helps

1 Corinthians 12

27 Now ye are the body of Mashiyach, and severally members thereof.
28 And Elohim hath set some in the assembly, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, divers kinds of tongues.

Do you agree with the preacher here or is there an even more basic need in which scripture found it necessary to list the word "helps" before governments?

My thoughts on the Ministry of Helps are all of the supports one gives for the physical care of the assembly. For example, those who would clean the building - outside or inside without being requested or paid but just do what they see is needed. I used to see issues at a church where I once belonged and then someone said once, if you find a problem... perhaps, it is your assignment to improve it. I accepted this as a good Word. Well, I learned that with permission to do so... this is a true servant spirit or action.

Yet, I think it may be those who also support the spiritual care of the assembly. Prayer intercessors will serve the assembly praying for the Pastor or the people in the middle of the night...while all others are sleeping. This is truely servanthood ... i think an example of the ministry of helps. The Greeters make such a difference when a burdened sister or brother enters an assembly. Another person may decide the assembly needs a website and with permission... creates their assembly's first website. In other words.... where ever there is a need seen by you... with proper authority, one can do and this would be called "helps"

Then what about the widows in the church who cannot care for their properties or the children needing guidance or the single mom needing help with her teens or tutoring students who flander in school or providing for those without food in the homes... Ministries established either individual or group... would be "helps'

Am I on the right track of thinking?
The Bible does not define this ministry and it appears that different churches define the "ministry of helps" in different ways, the following is such an example:

Ministry of Helps

Altar Partner

The Altar Partner Ministry assists new believers into a secure and trusting relationship with God through ongoing discipleship. Altar Partners have a heart for helping new believers become mature and established in their faith in God.

Audio/Visual
Every service and event requires the technical assistance of dedicated members of the Audio Ministry. Skilled technicians and willing helpers set up and control microphone volumes, recording levels, audio mixes, amplifiers, equalizers, speakers, and other high tech audio equipment to ensure the production of a quality presentation and recording of the gospel. Through this ministry, the congregation also enjoys slide and video presentations and the display of the song slides during Praise & Worship.

Bookstore
The Bookstore Ministry provides a place for you to purchase books, Bibles, reference materials, and CD/tape materials that offer Christian teaching on a variety of subjects and topics that apply to everyday life. CDs and tapes of the messages are also duplicated immediately after every service, and made available for sale through this ministry.

Building Services
The Building Services Ministry has the responsibility of keeping our sanctuary, classrooms, and restrooms in quality condition. Cleaning of the building is performed on a routine basis, and repairs and improvements to the building are performed as necessary.

Greeters
The Greeter Ministry helps establish an atmosphere of friendliness and warmth. God's love for people is communicated through those who greet others with joy and sincerity as they enter the house of God. The greeter acts as the host or hostess in God's house, helping people feel welcome and accepted.

Music
Our Music Ministry plays a vital role in shaping the atmosphere of the service. The talented and anointed musicians provide inspiration through instruments and singing that help lead people into the presence of God, and prepare their hearts to receive His Word. Although the Praise and Worship Team members rehearse regularly, they are not performers but true worshippers of the one and only True God.

Office Clerical/Errand Runner
People with clerical and office skills help answer phones, program computers, enter data, type, file, and perform other necessary duties facilitating the flow of the many administrative details in the ministry.
Faithful helpers are greatly appreciated as they run errands and pick up supplies for the church and office.

Spanish Interpretation
Using state of the art local broadcasting equipment we are able to provide this very unique service to the Spanish speaking people in the community. Our interpreters interpret our church services from English to Spanish so that our Spanish speaking audience may enjoy the ministry of God's Word.

Ushers
Ushers serve the Pastor and the people of the church so that the services can flow decently and in order, thus enhancing the ministry of God's Word and the move of the Holy Spirit. Ushers answer questions, provide directions, and coordinate seating for members and guests. They also help receive the tithes and offerings, and administer communion. When a special need arises, Ushers respond so that people are served in a most efficient manner, and distractions and disturbances are kept to a minimum. By serving and protecting, Ushers ensure that the flow of the Holy Spirit is unhindered during the services.

Television & Video Production
The members of the Visual Ministry are at every event and function that the church holds, capturing the excitement in photographs and on video.

Since we here do not meet as a corporate body, in a particular building, under a particular ministry, I wanted to start a group which could list resources accessible in each locality, that could primarily be of financial benefit to either the members here or to others, whom they may know.
Excellent venues to help in ministry ... Thank you!
