I'm a singer/songwriter/arranger who enjoys praise and worship. I am also a former choir director/president. I picked up on the keyboard a little by locating the keys I sing. I would love to actually learn to play the right way and be even more educated about music.

Jakki,

You probably just haven't had new challenging stuff to learn. I have had that same issue at times. It gets boring if you are playing the same stuff, the same way, in the same keys you have always played. New voicings are a good way to open up the ear to something exciting. Also, learning jazz standards and or studying a particular jazz musician's style also has been proven to get the juices flowing. That's my two cents.... for now... got more to come of course.

Ok. I have a strange situation. I have been playing piano/organ since I can remember. I want to continue playing but I don't enjoy playing. That sounds crazy, right? I don't enjoy playing because I am not pleased with my playing but I know that I am not better than I am because I refuse to practice. I want to learn more but haven't been able to motivate myself to make it happen. What do I do? I know if I did better I would love it. HELP!!!

I was gifted to play the drums by ear. I'm also a soloist, i can play and sing at the same time, i would love to learn how to play the keyboard also, i was born muti-tasked when it comes to music for the LORD.
