Greetings Parents in ministry,
We all share common bonds and concerns. I desire "positive" feedback and words of wisdom from the mature chrisitan. No offense, it's just the matter at hand.
Ministry and laboring in the Kingdom of God is very fulfilling to me, and I am quite happy to be chosen by God for such a time as this, I am really addressing this to parents of teenagers, who may bear withness or identify with some of the challenges our youth face in the 21st century. They are challenged by over 100 TV channels, (for me I can only remeber 5 growing up) communication and technology has advanced beyond what we are able to comprehend. We did not have computers, yet along networking on the internet, unheard of..I graduated high school in 1981. Nevertheless, I believe that this generation was chosen to be birthed in the late 80- 90's, God knew, they really need our prayer and support, as they contend with wickness and rulers of darkness, constantly I have to keep myself in the throne room of God's grace for my sixteen year old, who has been taught the ways of righteousness and holiness, I watch him struggle with the negative pressure, and normal youthful things from school and the neighborhood, he is also a young musician ( who has already written a praise/worship song, and composed it by the work of the Holy Spirt - to God be the Glory), but the forces that surround him are real.. we must contine to pray-pray-pray for our youth. I believe there is a generation in this earth, that will seek GOD, despite what it looks, like they will usher in the 2nd coming of the Lord. ! For me, the storm has somewhat passed over, from 13-15/12 was "my God" - if you know what I mean LOL, I really did not know this kid, not same person I took the church from his birth to 13..., but nevertheless God prevailed and he never stop coming to church, though sometimes totally disconnected...the prayers of the righteous availeth much, or should I say " the effective fervent prayer of the righteous man, availeth much..."
Question: " What can we do, and how can we keep them encouraged in the things of God,"?
* P.S. THis will can be an awesome, support group....what are your thoughts?**
Sincerly, Dr. S.Jones, Pastor
