Responding to the Spirit

One Sunday night I was visiting a local church and they asked me to sing. There was an especially strong anointing on me that evening. When I took the platform I felt the anointing even stronger. When I sat down on the piano bench it moved on me even heavier. When I placed my hands on the keys I began to sing in the Spirit.

When you are connected to the Holy Spirit, you stay sensitive and ready to move with Him. I sang a beautiful melody, it seemed like it went on for fifteen minutes or so, then a prophecy came forth in a spiritual song, then I sang a written song in English. Singing in the Spirit ushered us into the presence of God that was already there but not tapped into. We only tapped into what was already there as I sang. It’s not enough to feel God’s presence or be aware of His presence, it has to be tapped or responded to.

After I sang in the Spirit for a bit I then began to sing a spiritual song in English. Part of the words were “There is healing in the atmosphere.” There were people there who needed healing manifested in their body. After I was done I went back to my seat. They clapped their hands - clapping is not responding to the Holy Spirit. The anointing was heavy with healing power ready to be tapped into or struck. After I went back to my seat, they took up the offering and the pastor led a Bible study.

At the end of the service someone mentioned the words of my song that said “there is healing in the atmosphere.” They then suggested we pray for the sick. They missed it. Had they responded to the power to heal when it was flowing they wouldn’t of had to pray for the sick. All they had to do was receive their healing in manifested form.

With sickness in your body you need to be quick to respond to the Holy Spirit when He says there is power here to heal.

By the time they prayed for the sick the power to heal had stopped flowing. Had they moved quickly before changing the order of service, I believe there would have been manifestation of healing that night to be seen by all who were there.

My spiritual father Dr. Ed Dufresne said that the reason people leave church the same way they came is because they do not respond right to the Holy Spirit.

It’s like a piñata’ that we use for parties, mostly birthday. One kid has to take a stick and strike it to try to break through, so everyone can get something from within. It may take several kids to strike it before it weakens enough for another kid to break it open. When it breaks open everyone gets something, however, they have to do their part and reach out and grab what they want. It’s not enough for the piñata’ to hang from the ceiling. It has to be struck.

From the piano, moved by the Holy Spirit, I was able to make the people aware of the presence of God and the power to heal that was present. They then needed to strike it by releasing their faith to receive healing. One person could have stood and worshiped God and said, “I receive my healing now!” This would have broken open the healing power, then the others would have just had to reach out and take what was theirs. Every person there could have left with their healing manifested. One person could have been so bold and the power to heal would have been released for the people to take. Boldness gets results.

The fact that they clapped when I got up from the piano bench told me they did not know how to respond to the power to heal that was present. No one there was hungry enough, for their healing, to strike the healing power of God. When you are really hungry, you don’t care what others think, you take what you want and eat.

They clapped their hands instead of partaking of the table that was set before them. There were healing loaves on the table prepared just for them in the presence of their enemy of sickness, and physical weakness, Psalm 23:5. But they never reached out for the loaf sat on the table before them. Hunger will reach across the table to get food if needed. Faith is hungry for the expected end, faith reaches until it grabs a hold, faith brings you to the table of God to partake and receive. Faith responds, unbelief does not.

what is a special strong anointing?

It wasn't to the same degree of anointing that I minister in. It was stronger than usual. I could tangibly feel it in the room. It was the anointing power to heal. Isaiah 10:27 says, that the anointing destroys the yoke and removes the burden. Sickness is certainly a yoke and a burden. Acts 10:38 "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." I John 4:4 says that He that is in us is greater than he that is in the Word. I John 2:27 says that the anointing abides in us.

Also, according to the word of God sickness is not a yoke...the yoke Jesus removes is the yoke of sin..this is the yoke that Christ destroyed

Whereby was fulfilled what was spoken by the Prophet Isaiah - He spoke it in a more exalted sense. The evangelist here only alludes to those words, as being capable of this lower meaning also. Such instances are frequent in the sacred writings, and are elegancies rather than imperfections. He fulfilled these words in the highest sense, by bearing our sins in his own body on the tree: in a lower sense, by sympathizing with us in our sorrows, and healing us of the diseases which were the fruit of sin. Isaiah 53:4.

In this article I was teaching on how to respond to the Spirit. Regarding the degree of anointing I operate in: in my experience it is not always the same. The anointing flows from me according to my faith and boldness. What I felt that night within my spirit man, was greater than usual. However, since that night my usual has changed.

With all due respect sin was not destroyed the power of it to master us was. It no longer can lord it over us Romans 6:14, Colossians 1:13.

Jesus the same yesterday today and forever..the holy spirit is God,Jesus is God if God doesn't change then the holy spirit doesn't change hen Jesus doesn't change,there is no lesser anointing of Gods spirit basically..he never changes..
the spirit of God flows according to God.. not according to us,we don't dictate what God does friend, God dictates what we do.the bible says his spirit will live in us and guide us,we don't guide it.. Also,I never said God destroyed sin,I said the yoke that christ destroyed, that yoke OF sin..the yoke is something that binds us so that would be referring to the power wouldn''t it?
