High rate of sexual sin in Church.

Started by Pastor Ben Eretabe. Last reply by Pastor Ben Eretabe Mar 25, 2010. 1 Reply

It is alarming at the rate sexual sin is being committed in Church today even among church workers. How can the fear of God be restored back in the Church?

Dealing With Peer Pressure

Are you in turmoil today because you have been made to feel like a fool for resisting the pressure of family and friends to "tone down" your work for the Lord?

Don't feel alone. Even Jesus was not immune to peer pressure. One example was when He healed and delivered countless people who came to Peter's mother-in-law's house for His help. By early morning all He wanted to do was to slip away by Himself to pray and have fellowship with His Father. But, the Word tells us, "The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. But he said, 'I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because this is why I was sent.' And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judah" (Luke 4:42-44, NIV).

Can't you just feel the pressure this well-meaning crowd must have put on Him? They had hiked all the way into the desert at dawn just to tell Him, "You don't have to go so soon. Stay and relax for a while. We need You. We will take good care of You." But Jesus knew what He had to do. In His own gentle way, He resisted their efforts and left.

As a child of God you can claim, today, this aspect of Jesus' character...the side of Him which could resist the peer pressure to forget His commission and put Himself first. Utilize this strength from our Lord when those around you try to "protect" you from answering His call.

Determine today to gently resist peer pressure and continue to move forward tomorrow down the path the Lord has provided.

Our Prayer - Let's Pray Together… God loves you and wants to answer your prayer.

Say this prayer with me:

Heavenly Father, thank you for hearing my cry and the cries of all who are in pain. As I am consoled in my anguish, let me console. Release my spirit to reach out and be concerned for others once more. Open my heart to Your unfailing love...a love that delivers and heals from every form of distress. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Thank you Evang. Joy. How are you and the ministry? More grease to your elbow. Keep doing what He has called you to do and your ministry will prosper in Jesus name.
