SING, LIVE AND DANCE TO YOUR OWN SONG

Waking up in the morning, going about your daily house chores or performing tasks at your job may be accompanied be a favorite song by a favorite artist. The song may entail words, a message or a melody that lifts your spirit, causes you to steer your focus from pain or problems and they may bring you comfort, joy or hope.

I define music as a very powerful tool or force, that can aid in the building up or tearing down of a person's body, mind, soul and spirit. So we should be very selective to the songs that we listen to and very selective to the songs that we sing. All music has the ability and potential to influence you in a positive or negative way.

In Judges chapter 5, Deborah a judge and prophetess in Israel, along with Barak a captain of the army of Israel made up and sang a song about the victory of the battle they had won, by the hand and orchestration of God. And I am sure that while they were singing their song, their feet and hands moving and swinging as they sang and rejoiced.

Now back to singing, living and dancing to your own song. Again, we sing songs written and sung by other people about their testimonies, success, life and experiences. But what about singing your own song? Haven't you had enough blessings, victories, or intervention of God's hands and providence working in your life to sing your own song? Have you come through some hardship, storms of life, sin, sickness, grief or loss of a loved one, that has left a song in your heart and praise and rejoicing in your mouth? Can you do something today that you couldn't do yesterday for whatever reason? Or have you made some type of movement in the forward direction to move you from down to up, or to move you from your past into your future? Well if you have experienced any of the above, this is your time to sing your own song. There's nothing wrong with singing and dancing to some one else song, but you need get to a point where you can write, sing, live and dance to your own song. You have many songs that you could write, sing, dance to and live by, and you don't have to be a gifted artist per se' to do so.

Sing unto the Lord a new song.” Psalms 33:3.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto the Lord.” Colossians 3:16

Some times we are waiting to get some big spiritual direction, instruction, etc. from the Lord about what we should be doing or what He wants us to do. But your great big answer may be just simply to sing and sing praises unto your God. The Lord is waiting to hear your song, your melody, your voice. Some times it will be the simple acts of obedience that will be the vehicle through which great blessings, our deliverance or healing, etc. will come!!!!
