IN THE BOOK THE CREATIVE WOMAN, Dorothy Goldberg wife of former United States Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg, suggests reserving "a little energy for the other life within us"

The doings of the day become our roots, and mothers are all trees of many roots standing by the ever-rushing water of time. Some are glad; some are sorry. The important thing is to save some energy-even a little-because all the doings do not have to get done at once. There is no botulism brewing in the extra moment or two it takes to return something to the refrigerator.
What I am saying is that, as we rush about we must reserve a little energy for that other life within us, that urge to make, to do, to try to create.

If we have one child, then our inner life becomes our second child. if we already have two children, then the life within us must be our third child. Even four, five, six. Even if there are six children to be helped toward their own launchings, the inner life must be her seventh child. if that inner life is built around art, then that is the child, and it must be given all the attention, concern and money we would somehow find it were a child in the flesh. What we would spend for the gynecologist, the obstetrician and the education of a real child, those are the costs due that mythica chil, the inner interest and inner life that are your own.

HOME/ MOTHER AND FATHER

"The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wifcked, but his blessing is on the home of the upright.~Proverbs 3:33

"Listen, my child, to what your father teaches you. Don't neglect your mother's teachings. What you learn from them will crown you with grace and clothe you with honor." ~Proverbs 1:8-9

'Sensible children bring joy to their father; foolish children despise their mother." ~Proverbs 15:20

'Listen to your father, who gave you life, and don't despise your mother's experience when she is old."~Proverbs 23:22

"If you curse your father and mother, the lamp of your life will be snuffed out."~Proverbs 20:20

*How do you think you have suppressed your own inner child?

In my own life I have discovered that the things that I now enjoy doing as an adult is the same as when I was a child. I was always drawing and writting poems when I was 7 yrs old. Then as the worries of life took over my life, I lost that creative side of me, I now think of the numerous opportunity that I missed out on. I did take art in middle school, but in High School it wasn't popular to be an artist, well at least that is what I believed.
Now that I hAve returned to Jesus my first Love, I can recall all my creative abilities and put them to work for him. I no longer wonder what should I draw or create?, because he gives me the eyes to see my work done before I even began!
I give thanks and Glory to God, for reminding us of how precious our inner self is, and who is to say, he is our inner child, he will makes us remember that we are his children, HE GIVES US GIFTS AND IDEAS He should be our reason for doing all, if one day I forgot who I was, I know that he is who will remind me of where I was and where I now am....and oh yes where I am going, for He is the ALPHA &OMEGA!!!!

Images of Black Women in Drama
by
Belinda Carberry

The historical role of the black woman as mother, wife, and uneducated employee has kept young black females from striving to enter the mainstream of job opportunities. Many women have accepted the idea that:

1. They can find a man to take care of them

2. They can handle the abuse as long as he pays the bills

3. It isn’t worth working if all the money goes toward paying a baby sitter

4. If they have a child out of wedlock, they can go on welfare
