The great question- “ Who’s your covering?”

As a Christians and minister ,I have heard and even been questioned as to “ Who is my covering”?

This question as to “who is your covering?” has always bothered me, because it implies that I have need of someone (A PERSON) to tie my spiritual shoes and walk me through my ministerial journey. “I know off the bat” that some of you who are reading this are going to say “ it’s about accountability or submission” so because I know your thinking this, I will knock on that door from the start with my own question”

Who are you accountable to?

And to whom do you submit to?

Now I know what being accountable means to me as well as submission, so I will not tarry with trying to explain with what I believe it to be! Surly in this reading you will see what I know it to be.

“I have to admit”, when first approached with this question I thought I had missed some form of Doctrine or that I didn’t know God as I do today, And even in my answer to that question I would always seem to get stumped by those who would pose the question.

“Now when I say stump” I don’t mean to imply that “I didn’t know how to tie my own spiritual shoes and needed some bigger or stronger Christian to tie them for me” What I mean is “ Don’t they know already?”

of course all of us have someone who mentored us and guided us as we began our journey into ministry, but even with that “ We Submitted to them because they knew the Lord!”

I remember as a child having to give account to my parents as to my whereabouts

And how I had a choice, but it was not a choice that I was willing to trifle with because I knew the consequences if I chose not to. Thus not only for fear did I obey them, but also because they had my best interest at heart. They Loved me!

Sounds a lot like Jesus which bring me to the meat of this reading.

Psalm 91:1-4 Says…….

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

So with all that being said, I now pose the question!

WHO IS YOUR COVERING?
