Elder Connail Johnson was born on June 26, 1962 to Johnny & Inez Johnson in rural Soperton, Georgia. At the age of four, he moved to Chicago, Illinois where he lived for six years before coming to Miami with his mother in 1972. Pastor Johnson is a graduate of Miami Northwestern Senior High School, Miami, Florida. Immediately following graduation, Pastor Johnson enlisted in the United States Army where he served this country for six years. In 1988 Elder Johnson heard the voice of the Lord calling him to salvation. He later returned to Soperton, Georgia where he accepted the call to preach. His initial sermon was delivered at Evergreen Church of God in Christ of Vidalia, Georgia under the leadership of Aninnias Phillips. In December of 1990 Elder Johnson returned to Miami, Florida where he served as Youth Pastor & Director of Evangelism under the leadership of then Pastor Victor T. Curry & current pastor James Kinchen. Elder Johnson was later re-united with his spiritual father Bishop Victor T. Curry at the New Birth Baptist Church of Miami, Florida, where he served as Pastor of Evangelism. In 1993, Elder Johnson was blessed to enter into courtship with Sister Patricia Martin. God shined upon their union, and on Christmas day of 1994 Bishop Victor T. Curry at the New Birth Baptist Church of Miami, Florida joined them together in holy matrimony. Their union inspired Elder Johnson to compose & record a Christian love song entitled “God In My Corner”, which has been a lasting symbol of their love. Together they have been blessed with five lovely children. Jerron, Connetta, Wesley, Melissa and Ta’Corrious. On May 12, 1999, Pastor Connail Johnson was elevated to the call of the Pastorate at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Hollywood, Florida. Elder Johnson’s God given mantle of evangelism is his motivation in carrying out the “Mandate of the Master”, which is to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all nations”. Under the leadership of Elder Johnson, New Hope M.B.C. has experienced immeasurable growth, both numerical & spiritual. There are presently over twenty-five active sub-ministries. All designed to minister to the “Whole Person” within the 800 membership of New Hope. Hope Human Resource Development, Inc. (H.H.R.D.), a subsidiary of New Hope, is a non-profit organization designed to cater to the needs of those dwelling within the community in which New Hope presides. H.H.R.D. feeds the hungry (Virtuous Vineyard), provides for job research (Workforce-One) & offers financial assistance for utility payments. H.H.R.D.’s 5013c status has opened doors for approved grants for it’s educational program. Elder Johnson’s passion for children & Education has promoted New Hope/H.H.R.D. to open it‘s doors by organizing an after school program with a state of the art computer lab. It is without a doubt that Elder Connail Johnson has been called for such a time as this... and now brethren is the time!
