- A former entrepreneur in the community, Bishop Harris has developed a keen sense of community and economic empowerment for the community. He joins his lovely wife, Ora J. Harris in the ownership and management of an award winning hair and beauty establishment.
One of the original founders of the Ten Point Coalition in Boston, Bishop Harris has taken his broad-based ministry to include young people, providing outreach services that assist young people living in today's society; provides support groups around a myriad of health issues; marriage counseling; and home and family planning informational forums.
Bishop Harris was the founder and Pastoral Director of Churches Organized to Save Tomorrow, formerly Churches Organized to Stop Tobacco (COST), the first and only church-based tobacco control initiative of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's Tobacco Control Program. Working in conjunction with a coalition of inner-city clergy, he generated strategies to combat the impact tobacco had on the health of communities of color as well as for hypertension, diabetes, breast and cervical cancer, prostate cancer, and HIV/AIDS.
Bishop Harris presides over BRIDGE (Building Relationships Internationally with the Direction of God's Elect), an apostolic network of independent churches and individual ministries that are voluntarily united by nurturing relationships to bring healing and restoration among church leadership; to establish churches; to convene conferences, revivals, and retreats; and to prepare men and women for the work of the ministry.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Apostle Harris received a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) degree in Liberal Arts from Eastern Nazarene College. Bishop Harris resides with his wife of forty-four years, Reverend Ora J. Harris, in Boston, Massachusetts. He is the father of five adult children and grandfather of five. - Website:
