Became a member of New Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, November, 1987. Licensed on January 15, 1988 and ordained on June 17, 1988 by Pastor Flemon Henry, Sr. Served as a member of the Choir, Ministerial Staff and Biblical Instructor of Youth Sunday School, Matron's and Mission Department. Appointed as Counselor for youth and adults.

Organized a massive food project for the homeless and needy in West Oakland, East Oakland, North Oakland, San Francisco, Albany, El Cerrito, Berkeley, Richmond, San Pablo, El Sobrante were able to receive brown bags of food twice a month. Hot meals were served at two sites in Oakland: New St. Paul MBC, Friday, and the home of Rev. Alonzo Davis, Wednesday. The project started with a meager meal of hot dogs, chips, soft drinks, milk, oranges and cookies. Over 80 people were fed. A different meal was served each week and the number fed grew weekly to over 500 each time. At the last count over 590 people gave their lives to Christ with 300 being candidates of baptism. God gave the name of this ministry to be: One True Vine Outreach Ministry, founded September 14, 1988. It was painful to see God's people sleeping in a dangerous park, lying on a piece of cardboard, covering up with a sheet of newspaper.

Carson made friends with many of the homeless, four, in particular, really touched her. Jeremiah, Torry, & Darryl would help her clean up the fellowship hall and set things up for breakfast the next day before church service. "Joe" who attended a thanksgiving feast prepared by Carson and gave thanks for having a good meal. He spoke to everyone assembled and stated he prayed three times a day, morning, noon and at night when he went to bed. A man, homeless, laying his head wherever he could---thanking the Lord three times a day. Carson went to Louisiana to be with her pastor's mom for Christmas. Upon her return, God had called Joe home, He was found frozed, unable to take an extremely cold night. To Carson, Joe was like Lazarus, only he never begged.

After the death of her friend, she did all she could to have the park renovated by the City of Oakland, helped them to get jobs, homes and re-united some with lost families. She would pray young ladies through the night to keep them from selling their bodies for drugs. God had given her a second chance at life because with sickle cell anemia, it was stated she would not have lived to be 18. Helping the people of God, giving of herself was a way of thanking God for her life.

National Ministry: Carson has preached across the United States, licensed and ordained men and women of God, given charters for new churches; evangelized by going into the highways and byways; held church services and brought the population together in Santa Rita, San Quentin, Iberia Parish, and Leavenworth. Sent bible study lessons to those incarcerated, assisted those released with finding homes and jobs.

March of Dimes Walk: To benefit people with cancer & leukemia, held in Diego, CA; invited guest were John Schneider, Dukes of Hazzard and Michael Damien, Young & the Restless. Vallejo, CA, day at the Park for children with cancer.

International Ministry: Carson has gone into Mexico to preach an uncompromising gospel to anyone willing to hear the Word of God. She has traveled to Tijuana, Ensenada and Mexicali, Mexico and have ministers who currently serve in those three areas. Food, clothing and toys have been sent to needy families in Mexico.

When there was a serious need in Ethiopia, Carson joined with movie stars to raise funds to send to the people. A basketball game was held with locals playing against the stars: Kevin Hooks, Derek Thompson, Tony King, Blair Underwood and Marcus from the Jeffersons. That night a banquet was held and Carson's 2 year old nephew, Carl K. Dunn, was the first to donate to the cause.
