It was in 2003 which marked the beginnings of transformation in the lives of Bernard & his wife Ursela. It was during a rough season in his life & their courtship in 2003 that led to Bernard re-dedicating his life to Jesus Christ and in 2004 Ursela (then his fiance) dedicated her life to Jesus Christ as well. They were married in 2005 and in 2006 Bernard accepted his calling as a licensed minister at Bible Way Temple, in Raleigh, NC. Bishop Darnell Dixon & the elder staff of Bible Way Temple helped groom him in the ministry. Through consistent communication relationship with God, intimate worship & offensive study, Bernard has learned to understand hearing the voice of the Lord during the early phases of ministry development. At this time God was preparing Ursela for ministry as well, through teaching, training, and going out on ministry assignments with her husband.
Hearing the voice of God was not new to Bernard; as a young boy he would hear his name called and would rush to his mother only to find out it was not her calling him. It was while studying the prophet Samuel in which Bernard finally understood what was occurring; God was identifying him as one of his prophets. Development of the gift of the word of wisdom, gift of the word of knowledge and gift of prophecy were evident and after being groomed and going out in training doing kingdom works, Bernard began to understand the prophetic and supernatural ministry through signs and wonders in which God uses him today. He speaks as a mouthpiece of God to assemblies under Gods divine order and appointment. In understanding who you are in God, Ursela encourages women in knowing their purpose and value in the Kingdom of God.
February 2010 both Bernard & his wife Ursela were ordained as ministers. On June 5, 2011 Bernard was consecrated & appointed as a prophet of God at His Kingdom Ministries, Durham, NC, by Apostle Janice & Bishop Randy Thomas. In 2011 S. Bernard Mitchell founded the ministry B-U LIFE International Ministries in which he & his wife Ursela operates as a team today in prophetic evangelist ministry.
Bernard understands what it is like to be orphaned, abandoned & rejected. He understands what it is like to walk in life without direction to be imprisoned both naturally & spiritually with no sense of purpose. He understands the effects of multiple acts of abuse because all of these were afflictions he suffer from the hands of both himself & loved ones. Yet God has delivered & equipped him to minister to those who struggle with these same issues as well as others. God is using Bernard to show the afflicted that there is a "new day" for them if they don't give up or give in.
